Description:The position of Director, Combat Systems Hardware will report to the Engineering & Technology Combat Systems Vice President. This position is located in Fort Worth, Texas.

In this role the director is responsible for:

  • Leading the Combat Systems Hardware Team through all phases of definition, development, delivery and sustainment of all combat systems hardware across the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Business Area.

  • Products that include all Processors, Displays, Recording Devices, Helmets, Radar, EW, Integrated CNI and PNT solutions, as well as microelectronics for all Aeronautics platforms.

  • Responsible for internal development efforts, external supplier relationships and strategically aligned buy vs build technology decisions.

  • Leading the Hardware Team to recruit, hire, develop, and maintain technical expertise needed to support successful program execution. To include the Software Product Acquisition Manager (SPAM) role and grow this competency within the function.

  • Defines standard work to ensure compliance to technical, safety and flight clearance requirements in delivery of products to program and government customers.

  • Manage and report cost, schedule and technical earned value performance for the Hardware team to internal and customer reviews.

  • Ensures availability of resources to the Program to manage prime subcontractors, associate contractors and partner companies to deliver Hardware products to meet program cost, schedule and technical requirements.

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of the hardware/microelectronics, embedded supplier software, and subsystem development and support system test & evaluation for all Aeronautics platforms.

  • Responsible for mentoring, coaching and developing team members, driving engineering discipline and process excellence, and enhancing program execution by incorporating proven corporate practices while aggressively migrating the team and associated suppliers to modern industry standards.

  • Lead the 1LMX Combat Systems Hardware road mapping and strategy to include areas like reuse and automation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with STEM degree

  • Demonstrated technical and people leadership experience including leading diverse and dynamic multi-discipline engineering teams

  • Demonstrated Mission Systems experience

  • Experience in technical leadership and Complex hardware development with multi-discipline engineering teams

  • Demonstrated corrective action and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

  • Program Management
  • Broad based experience: managing large performance efforts delivering cost, schedule and financial outcomes.
  • Experience working with US Services and International Customers

  • Experience with DevSecOps development methodology and agile metrics

  • Cultural Catalyst

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and change culture within a large organization that results in improved performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience engaging and presenting in executive level meetings

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
