  • Curriculum development per the CoAEMSp and NREMT standards of accreditation.

  • Deliver curriculum that will ensure the achievement of program goals and learning domains. Instruction must be an appropriate sequence of classroom, laboratory, clinical, and field internship activities.

  • Development of course syllabus describing learning goals, course objectives, and competencies required for graduation.

  • Plan and coordinate expert guest lecturers and simulation opportunities with consortium partners.

  • Implement and sustain interprofessional collaboration initiatives between other allied health science programs within the region.

  • Provide student feedback and guidance related to tracking required patient types, interventions, and team leads required for the appropriate exit points according to age, pathologies, complaint, gender, and interventions.

  • Facilitate field internship to allow students the opportunity to serve as a team-leader in a variety of pre-hospital advanced life support emergency medical situations.

  • Communicate with preceptors to assure feedback and oversight of student field internship performance.

  • Work with program Dean to perform CoAEMSp accreditation annual reports and site survey preparation.

  • Perform evaluation of paramedic program staff, as outlined by accreditation guidelines.

  • Ensure that the paramedic training consortium education manual and field protocols are practiced consistently in classroom, clinical, and field internship experiences.

  • Work collaboratively with the consortium medical director to ensure student competency and program outcomes, fulfilling requirements for accreditation and quality improvement.

  • Utilize conflict resolution skills to mitigate instructor, student, or clinical partner concerns directly related to the paramedic education program.

  • Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identified own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution.

  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize resources, maximize the effectiveness of the work and innovation within the job role.

Responsible for preparing, conducting, reviewing, and evaluating EMS educational programs within the system. Assists with initial education programs and continuing education for system agencies. Provides recommendations to the EMS Education Council and CoAemsp Advisory board as dictated by changing NREMT and CoAemsp requirements. Works closely with the EMS Quality Assurance Coordinator for continuing education based on skills competency findings. Demonstrates and utilizes professional presentation skills through proper speech, timely implementation, and appropriate media for the intended audience. Complies with all standards set forth by state, federal, and local law and other regulatory agencies. Is held accountable for compliance with all McLean County Area EMS System and Carle BroMenn Medical Center policies, protocols, and procedures. Displays the philosophy and values of each organization through daily behavior.
