The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department; organizes and supervises the departments ongoing functions.
Assures the department complies with hospital policies and the standards that govern the specialty.
Maintains regulatory compliance on both the federal and state level.
Maintains compliance with Trauma designation and is the ongoing liaison among professional staff, Medical staff and emergency services personnel.
The Director manages all of the operational aspects of patient care to all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Collaborates with staff, Materials Management, physicians, and others to evaluate new products and procedures.
Collaborates with administrative and support services in the planning and implementation of the overall organization mission and values.
Responsible for professional staffing and budgeting of Emergency Department.
Works one clinical shift per week in order to maintain clinical skills, or more as needed when schedule dictates.
May also be asked to help out on the floor if patient loads increase during the day unexpectedly.

Duties:The Assistant Sports Information Director will report to and work with the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications in delivering the University's and Athletic Department's internal and external messaging. The Assistant SID will assist the Assistant AD of Communications with the day-to-day operations of the sports information department and be the primary contact for assigned sports. Along with these duties, the Assistant SID will help oversee game day operations; nominate Western teams and individuals for awards; supervise and train student workers; collaborate with other departments on Western's campus to assist with inquiries and requests; assist with acquisition of essential office equipment; and complete other tasks assigned by the Assistant AD and Director of Athletics. The Assistant SID must adhere to Western Colorado University, RMAC and NCAA guidelines and regulations. Duties of this position will include but are not limited to: * Maintaining Western Athletics' website www.GoMountaineers.com * Writing press releases * Designing publications * Utilizing social media * Graphic design * Video editing * Recording statistics for athletic events * Manage game day events * Assigning press box and press row duties Qualifications:The successful candidate will hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of journalism, communications or other related field. She/he must possess accuracy in writing, editing, and proofreading and be computer literate using MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and QuarkXPress or other desktop publishing programs. Candidates must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and with interruptions while meeting the demands of multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience using Stat Crew Software and video editing software is preferred, along with experience in sports writing, sports copy editing, proofreading or desktop publishing. Prior experience in a university sports information office is highly desired. Additional Application Information:Compensation: Salary is $31,000. This is a full-time, twelve-month position.
