We're seeking a highly motivated Director of eCommerce to further accelerate our success and drive strategic revenue growth. This opportunity calls for a strategic thinker and implementer who together with the COO will make a significant impact on the future of our business.

The role….

As the Director of eCommerce, you will enable the brand’s continued growth through its DTC channels.  This is a hands-on position with full ownership of our Digital P&L and report directly to the COO. You will oversee web development, partner with our Growth team and develop a hyper-growth-focused digital roadmap. As our Director of eCommerce, you'll be our in-house eCommerce guru, owning the journey of boosting our online presence and sales on all of our platforms. You'll wear multiple hats, taking full ownership of all of our platforms, regularly auditing and constantly optimizing our product pages to maximize conversions and optimize our presence online.  From the smallest product details to our overarching brand strategy, you'll ensure that every part of our online presence on all of our platforms is in perfect harmony with our brand.

You'll work cross-functionally with various teams to launch new products and update content on our platforms. You’ll also work closely with the Operations team to ensure we're always in stock and shipping products promptly. You accept pressure, possess the ability to switch from one task to the next, handle interruptions and constantly juggling your workload while remaining cool, calm and focused – you eat stress for breakfast.  From advertising strategies to technical issues, you'll handle it all with a keen eye and proactive attitude. You will dive deep into data, tracking our performance and identifying areas of opportunity. Analysis of customer reviews as a valuable resource will allow you to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Examples of the work you’ll own…

  • Site Optimization and Personalization, analysis of web-based analytical tools to measure and report on  eCommerce product performance.
  • Manage all aspects of our various platforms to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Conduct regular audits of our accounts, product pages, and brand stores to ensure compliance, optimization, and accurate representation of our products and brand strategy.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to measurably drive acquisition growth of new customers and expand the lifetime value of customers across all digital channels.
  • Define best-in-class practices for each digital marketing channel to drive sales, profit and engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to increase traffic and conversions through keyword research, sales analytics, and tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to maintain stock levels and ensure timely shipping, adhering to the various platform’s EDI and processing requirements.
  • Monitor our performance against competitors, devising and implementing strategies to increase our market share.
  • Work cross-functionally with the digital advertising team, managing advertising strategy, campaign focus, targets, budgets, and monitoring advertising effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Brand and Product Development team to launch new products and update product pages, A+ content, comparison tables, and brand stores.
  • Manage technical issues promptly and effectively to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop strategies to gather positive reviews through various channels, including on-site, post-purchase, and product packaging strategies.
  • Nurture relationships with Shopify, Amazon and other representatives for information and support.
  • Stay updated with Shopify, Amazon and other platform’s policies, programs, and market trends.
  • Monitor site analytics to identify opportunities for growth and make data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Understand and measure the customer lifecycle and develop growth strategies to support customers all the way through the delivery of their purchases, improving retention and increasing customer lifetime value.
  • Monitor and optimize product listings to ensure accurate and compelling content, images and keywords.
  • Implement effective promotional campaigns, including deals, coupons, sponsored products and advertising to drive sales growth. Coordination with the greater marketing functions is critical to ensure consistent pricing and messaging across all channels.
  • Analyze data and analytics and present concise, relevant reports to the founders on a regular basis. 
  • Trend analysis and related forecasting.
  • Proactive, quick to respond and the ability to pivot instantly.

  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
  • Sales Growth
  • Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS)
  • Conversion Rate (Purchases & Add To Cart)
  • Revenue Growth
  • Lifetime Value (LTV)
  • Net Promoter Score (NPS)
  • Customer Satisfaction

Requirements

What we are looking for …

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years' progressive experience in eCommerce with a track record of success running a digital business, with a minimum of $30 million in ecommerce revenue.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or M.S. preferred.
  • Extensive experience working with a performance marketing team with a multi-million $ paid marketing budget.
  • Most years spent with a "hero SKU" company or a company with a very limited product assortment.
  • Extensive experience working with a core replenishment/subscription aspect e.g. Razor / Razor Blade model
  • Demonstrable experience working with a DTC Website, Amazon, and Retail websites.
  • CPG skincare or beauty industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional ability to build effective relationships and influence people to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to excel at multi-tasking in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver clear, concise information supported by data.

  • The Director of eCommerce reports to our COO and Co-Founder.
  • Based in our LA office, located in Culver City, this role is expected to be in the office Monday through Thursday, with flex to work from home on Fridays. This is subject to change.
  • Your base salary is just one part of your total compensation package. The base salary range is between $120,000 and $175,000. We carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine individual pay, including but not limited to job-specific skills, years of relevant experience, size of business & teams you’ve led and relevant education and/or professional training.  Please note that the base salary range provided in this posting does not include any bonus, equity, or benefits you may be eligible for.
