The Director of Dual Credit Programs is the individual responsible for creating and overseeing the effective implementation of dual credit opportunities for local independent school districts and beyond. Provides visionary leadership for the college, ensuring the integrity and excellence of the dual enrollment courses/programs, including the Woodrow Wilson Early College High School and Bob Hope Early College High School, within an environment of constant improvement and best practices for dual credit partnerships and excellent pedagogy.
Works with the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships to expand dual credit opportunities to new locations in collaboration with other Lamar state colleges. Creates processes to ensure that school partners are supported and served effectively. Collaborates and communicates with other college departments and supervises dual credit staff.
Attends community and campus events. Serves on statewide and institutional committees, as appropriate. Participates in professional development activities for faculty and staff.
Performs related duties as assigned. The Director for Dual Credit Programs reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Requires a minimum of two year's administrative experience in higher education or secondary school administration. Must meet the requirements of school districts to enter the respective facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university with graduate studies in an academic or technical discipline, qualifying the individual for a professional rank. At least one year of experience (either at the high school level or the college level) teaching dual credit or administering dual credit preferred.
Two years of teaching experience or the equivalent in a two-year college or high school setting preferred.
Two years' experience a community college/ two-year college OR analogous experience in a secondary school setting preferred. Experience participating in the SACSCOC Accreditation process preferred.
