JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Douglas Finishing is responsible for ensuring that Douglas Finishing meets or exceeds its targeted financial goals. In addition, the Director must ensure that the operation continuously improves safety, product quality, internal and external customer service, and efficiency. The operation is required to meet 100% of all local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

4.Develop and implement plans to meet targeted financial goals and operational objectives.

5.Responsible for maintaining and expanding current customer base.

6.Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

7.Ensure that all employees follow all safety policies and procedures.

8.Provide and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.

9.Responsible for adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.

Comply with all Douglas Machine corporate policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 5 years related work experience or equivalent education and work experience
Prefer strong technical background in metal finishing processes and lean manufacturing techniques
Strong business management and leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office software
Excellent customer service skills

VIEW JOBS JOB SUMMARY: An Assistant Mechanical Designer works under the direction of an Advanced Mechanical Engineer and is responsible for finishing a print package after a design is completed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. 1. Produces drawings consistent with Douglas Machine Standards and Industry Standards. 3. Generates detail drawings of fabricated parts for a machine package that correspond with mating parts as shown on the assembly drawing either by locating them in the drawing database, by modifying an existing drawing or by creating a new one. 4. Assists other Engineers/Designers as needed. 5. Will be required to do design work. 6. Balloons all part numbers on the assembly drawings. 7. Accurately estimates work to maintain machine schedule. 8. Responsible for reviewing the BOM review processes and updating files that have been archived. 9. Documents project releases by filling out and sending cover pages to Production Control. 10. Understands and follows the progress of their projects through machine acceptance. 11. Resolves problems and/or questions regarding detail drawings in Machine Shop or Assembly. 12. Initiates the ECR process for machines located in the Assembly department. 13. Documents any ECRs and corrections to a machine package, updates assembly drawings, and product structures to reflect the corrections. 14. Actively participates in identifying and driving out waste. 15. May be required to represent the Mechanical Engineering department as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in regards to product lines, purchased components, and/or selected procedures. 16. Responsible for mentoring and training of new Detailers/Assistant Designers. 17. Reviews and understands the mechanical section of the machine specification sheet. 18. Reviews the production schedules for the projects they are involved with to maintain an overview of the progress of any given machine and ensure schedules are being followed. 19. Oversees and checks the work of Detailer's assigned to his/her design team. 20. Performs research when needed to ensure components are accurately sized. 21. Completes a request form for price and delivery on new purchase components. 22. Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. 23. Perform other assigned duties as instructed.
