In keeping with our focus on fostering a sense of belonging for all of our employees we are looking for the Director of Diversity and Inclusion to play a critical and strategic role in strengthening, building and further defining our comprehensive Diversity and Inclusion strategy across all facets of the employee and talent pipeline lifecycle. This role, in conjunction with the Chair, will help define and support policies, programs, processes and initiatives to drive and evolve the Firm's culture. The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and inspire others, develop and execute a results-oriented plan, lead organizational change with empathy, and communicate effectively at all levels. Based in our Los Angeles office, the Director of Diversity and Inclusion will report to the Firm's Chief Operating Officer and will collaborate with and support the Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in all key responsibilities, in addition to working with the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Develop, implement and support policies, programs, processes and initiatives to achieve the firm's goal of increasing the hiring, development, retention and promotion of attorneys, consultants and business professionals from traditionally under-represented groups.
Design and implement educational awareness and training programs.Coordinate with firm leadership to ensure alignment and consistency of programs across all offices.
Develop training to foster a spirit of belonging and appreciation for all.
Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to develop content for communication materials for internal and external use to ensure our people, clients and the communities we serve understand the firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Collaborate with firm leadership, Talent Management, Human Resources and Marketing Departments to promote and implement programs and initiatives, including but not limited to mentorship, internal growth, outreach, affinity and celebration of all cultures.
Partner with the recruiting teamto ensure that recruiters are adequately educated on diversity and inclusion hiring standard methodologies and processes.
Work with appropriate committees and departments to develop programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse work force.
Manage and track key metrics and develop analytics for measuring effectiveness of Diversity and Inclusion programs.
Assist with responding to internal and external surveys, including client and industry surveys and RFP's.
Monitor trends in firm diversity data, provides comparatives inside and outside the legal industry and report on a regular basis developments impacting policy and the recruitment and retention of employees to the Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and firm management.
Assist in evaluating the diversity budget including sponsorships and other programs with regular assessment of external sponsorships and related costs to determine return on investment.
Bachelor's degree required.J.D. or other relevant advanced degree a plus.
10+ years of managing complex large-scale Diversity & Inclusion or HR change initiatives.Law firm experience a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to translate data and analytics in order to develop insights, drive decisions, and measure impact.
Strong problem-solving, program management, organizational, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Possess sound judgment, able to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
Creativity in modeling innovative ideas and problem solving.
