The Operations and Advancement team oversees a strategic selection of campus enterprises and responsibilities, including Facilities Management and the campus physical plant, Auxiliary Services, Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives, and the Denver-based Advancement team. This diverse portfolio allows our teams to imagine long-term partnerships; support a campus master planning initiative; establish new fundraising opportunities as long-term drivers for new and evolving academic and student experiences; and message and share CSU Pueblo's statewide engagement and impact to stakeholders in Denver and beyond. Our team's objective is to build and strengthen CSU Pueblo's ten initiatives of Vision 2028 that work together as an ecosystem to support the three wildly important goals of the university: elevating the appeal of campus, enhancing student success, and developing our people.

Description of Job

The work of the Director of Digital Equity is part of the efforts of CSU Pueblo/Adelante Connect to address digital inequities and provide equitable internet access for student resident households and community members. The Director of Digital Equity is a full-time position, with 50% of the time dedicated to managing and supervising the Digital Navigators and 50% of the time serving in a training and technical assistance capacity.

The Director of Digital Equity acts as a Liaison between the Adelante Connect Leadership Team and the Digital Navigators. The Director of Digital Equity will manage and supervise the Digital Navigators, along with the Adelante Connect Leadership Team and will report directly to the Adelante Connect PI (Program Investigator). The Director of Digital Equity will spend 50% of the time managing and supervising the Digital Navigators and reporting to the PI and the Adelante Connect Leadership Team.

In addition to those supervision, management and reporting duties as set forth above, the Director of Digital Equity will spend the remaining 50% of the time as an Digital Navigator. These duties include providing individualized or small group assistance to [community members, or specify eligible group(s)] who need affordable home internet service, affordable internet-capable devices, and/or coaching in introductory digital skills in order to become effective home internet users. This assistance is provided primarily by voice telephone but may also include email, text, video chat, and other communication methods that work for the learner.

This position will closely collaborate with the Associate Vice President of DEI and the Director of Hispanic Serving Initiatives (Title V) to seek additional HSI STEM funding related to CSU Pueblo's HSI status as well as the development and expansion of HSI-associated activities and programs. The position would be funded to the end of the project period, March 31, 2026.

Primary Duties

  • Act as a Liaison between the Adelante Connect Leadership Team and the Adelante Connect Digital Navigators.

  • Manage and Supervise Digital Navigators.

  • Complete Annual Performance Review processes for Digital Navigators

  • Coordinate training provided by Digital Navigators related to digital learning, broadband awareness, adoption, subsidies, and devices to local collaborators with some focus in the Education sector.

  • Coordinate efforts of Digital Navigators to formulate digital literacy guidance, facilitate telecommunications connectivity and work with identified students and interested community members.

  • Promote digital equity and inclusion by ensuring Pueblo students, their families and organizations receive on-demand tech support and relevant information to secure internet access and devices, as well support foundational digital learning skills necessary to be participants in today's knowledge economy.

  • Discuss with each student and family their home internet access or need for home internet access, technology experiences and their devices.

  • Assess student/family access to technology, current digital skill level pertaining to what they need to accomplish the plan, connectivity needs, and internet use priorities.

  • Advise students and families about free or affordable home internet service options for which they may qualify, assist clients to apply for services they choose, and support their efforts to secure service.

  • Advise students and families about sources of affordable computers or other internet connected devices for which they may qualify and support their efforts to acquire appropriate devices and where they can get help for repair.

  • Coach students and families as necessary to use their home internet services to meet their internet use priorities. This may include both in person, phone, and online interactions, as well as referral to sources of additional digital literacy skill training.

  • Assist with providing ethical and privacy considerations to the students and families. Track student and family progress and types of requests, keep accurate and timely records, and report outcomes as required.

  • Work with students to become community advocates of digital learning skills and its importance in life-long learning.

Salary Range

$55,000-$65,000

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university

  • Training, education, or specialized research in technology and/or customer service

  • Knowledge on community engagement or youth programs

  • Ability to embrace the challenge of learning and teaching basic technological concepts related to internet services, computer and device characteristics, and common online services and applications.

  • Excellent self-organization, language capacity, and cultural competency.

  • Experience working with a diverse population of students

  • Experience supervising, managing, and evaluating subordinates.

  • Experience in a position requiring excellent telephone and online communication

skills, including the ability to establish trust with clients of varied educational and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and cultural sensitivity, in working with diverse customers, coworkers, and community.

  • Ability to creatively solve problems and negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, establish appropriate boundaries with clients, and to demonstrate administration experience.

  • Experience implementing curriculum redesign and professional development.

  • Experience working with Hispanic, low-income, and First-Generation college students.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to engage the community.

  • Experience managing budgets.

  • Experience in federal and state reporting procedures and compliance.
