JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Advancement Division is looking for a Director of Development Operations to fulfill the following duties:

  • The Director of Development Operations plays a critical role in driving fundraising success by fostering collaboration between all fundraising teams and affiliated organizations within the Advancement Division and supporting the implementation of strategic and operational initiatives that optimize fundraising performance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

25% - Essential

  • Operational Planning & Execution:

Establish standardized processes, procedures, policies, workflows and best practices for fundraising operations which will ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of operational activities and initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation and drive continuous improvement within the development teams. Create and maintain a development operating plan and calendar to ensure plans and activities align to strategic goals and objectives.

25% - Essential

  • Development & Fundraising Support:

Serve as connector between strategic vision & objectives from development management to all team members within development. Facilitate and support development management team by identifying and executing key operational activities, projects and initiatives that support fundraising success. Proactively identify gaps and create solutions while also addressing reactionary needs that arise from the fundraising teams with a service oriented mindset.

25% - Essential

  • Project Management:

Collaboratively support the development teams project management efforts by setting clear objectives, defining roles and responsibilities, and establishing timelines to ensure project success. Involve team members in project planning processes, solicit input, weigh options together, and ensure data-driven recommendations are presented that benefit the development team(s) as a whole and support the collective fundraising strategies.

25% - Essential

  • Internal Operations:

Develop and implement a comprehensive internal operations strategy to facilitate effective information sharing, alignment of goals, and engagement across all fundraising teams. Support the creation and distribution of departmental materials, including newsletters, memos, and presentations, to keep staff informed of fundraising initiatives, priorities and achievements of key milestones.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ Years

  • Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

Monitors Budget

  • Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

Recognize or inspect visually

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hours:: 37.5/week

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range: $ 54,974.00 - $ 75,000.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
