HomePlate, a nonprofit leader in the field of providing services for youth experiencing housing instability in Washington County, is looking for a dynamic new member to join our leadership team. HomePlate started in 2005 with $3,000 and a vision of helping youth in houseless and unstably housed situations find stability. Currently, Beaverton has the highest rate of student homelessness in the state of Oregon. With a budget of $3,000,000 and 26 staff, we operate youth drop-in, street outreach, employment, education, and housing navigation services. HomePlate successfully connects 900+ at risk youth with community members each year and together they work towards meeting youth-identified education, housing, employment, medical, dental and other goals.

HomePlate has an organizational commitment to equity and inclusion, and to ensure that programs and staff culture are equitable in both access and outcomes regardless of race, ethnicity, faith, culture, language, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or family status. HomePlate is committed to pursuing effective strategies and devoting dedicated time and resources at every level of the organization to address disparities based on identity and to apply an equity lens to all decisions, programs, and policies.

Why work with us?

We are committed to equitable and anti-racist practices. Staff and Board participate in training and we have quarterly readings and discussions on aligned topics. As HomePlate continues to evolve, we operationalize equitable and anti-racist practices. Our staff participate in two retreats per year, visioning in Spring and strategic planning in Fall. We have a deep appreciation for our team members and show it by celebrating staff birthdays and anniversaries, hosting a fun retreat in the summer, and making the time to connect on a human-to-human level at the beginning of every meeting. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package including employer paid medical (79%) and dental benefits for employee (100%) and 50% covered for dependents, $500 health reimbursement arrangement, short-term disability policy; 16 days of PTO, 9 paid holidays, paid parental leave, and paid sabbatical leave, professional development opportunities, and a flexible work schedule that includes a 32-hours work week. HomePlate is a 20-year old organization and is considered one of the 100 best nonprofits in Oregon.
