Meet the team:

Our Director of Cost Accounting will be a key member of the quickly growing and developing Global Operations Finance team with high visibility to our executive leadership! The group is responsible for providing actionable intelligence to executive leadership to drive the growth and efficiency of Dexcom. It will be at the forefront of driving improvements across processes, reporting and analytics for the Cost Accounting Functions of the Operations Finance team.

This role will help develop, interpret, track, and implement financial concepts across Manufacturing support functions. This includes performing financial analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Owning day- to-day management and oversight of their team and supporting multiple Business Partners in Operations. This is a critical leadership position in the Operations Finance Organization, reporting directly to the Sr. Director over Global Operations Finance. We are looking for a dedicated, financial minded, individual to help drive forward process improvements and analytics in our Global Operations Finance team!

Where you come in:

  • You will lead the finance team supporting US Manufacturing in both San Diego, California and Mesa, Arizona; inclusive of audit requirements, SOX controls and inventory management including a team of three to four employees

  • You will own driving improvements in reporting tracking metrics tracking for cost accounting and manufacturing areas and drive cost savings projects

  • You will own budgeting and forecasting for the manufacturing sites including but not limited to: Direct Labor, Fixed Overhead, Material Overhead and standard costing exercises

  • You will partner with the VP of US Manufacturing and site Operations leaders to drive improvements and support site specific initiatives and benchmarking looking out the next five years

  • You will drive improvements within reporting and benchmarking for improving our spend and supporting financial accountability with our business partners

  • You will lead a team owning the review of the daily, weekly and monthly KPIs along with providing actionable intelligence to the site leaders

What makes you successful:

  • Deep knowledge of Cost Accounting principles with work experience of their application, preferably in the medical technology field

  • Understanding of Routing hours and the financial manufacturing concepts

  • You must have professional courage to push boundaries to improve processes and continue to ask the "Why" behind requests and data

  • You will need to understand basic financial concepts and analytics including Budget and Forecasting processes

  • You should bring solid leadership capabilities to help support and develop your team of direct reports and across our organization

  • Needs to have experience with Capital Equipment Budgeting and approvals on a large manufacturing scale

  • You should have experience as a business partner, preferably with Operations leadership

  • You need to have a curiosity to keep learning and digging into the systems or reports to ensure clear understanding

  • Preferred to have experience with Oracle, Hyperion, Tableau

Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of industry experience

  • 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry

Travel Required:

  • 5-15%

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
