What We're Looking For

The Director of Contract Administration is a senior leadership role responsible for managing Baylor University's contract administration system (Jaggaer TCM) and overseeing the contract lifecycle. This position ensures that all contract processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the university's strategic goals. The Director will serve as the primary liaison with key stakeholders, including the Office of General Counsel, Risk Management, and various university departments, providing expert guidance and strategic oversight on contract-related matters and supplier negotiations.

A bachelor's degree, and seven years of relevant experience is required. A master's degree and ten or more years of experience are preferred.

Skills, certifications and qualifications:

  • Skills: Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements within a regulated environment. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a matrixed organization.

  • Certifications: Certifications such as CPCM or CPSM.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using automated procurement systems like Jaggaer or Oracle.

  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience and results in continuous improvement

A hybrid work arrangement will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement comprehensive contract administration strategies that align with the university's objectives, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.

  • Lead the contract review and execution processes, ensuring timely and effective negotiations and resolutions for complex, high-value contracts.

  • Act as the principal liaison between Procurement and Payment Services and key university offices such as the Office of General Counsel, Risk Management, IT Security, Title IX, EHS, and Facilities.

  • Oversee the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the contract management system, ensuring it meets the university's needs.

  • Work closely with Strategic Sourcing Managers and Senior Procurement Managers to review, negotiate, and execute complex contracts.

  • Provide strategic direction and training to university stakeholders on contract administration processes, system usage, and best practices.

  • Regularly meet with the Office of General Counsel to review and update university contract policies and processes.

  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve contract management processes and systems, fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to contract administration.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.

  • Ability to comply with University policies.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
