Construction Director

The ideal candidate will have a solid blend of technical construction knowledge, leadership skills, project management abilities, and a safety-focused mindset. What You'll Do

We design and build food, beverage, consumer goods, and life science manufacturing facilities. You'll use your extensive construction management experience in relevant industries like food, beverage, consumer goods, or life science to successfully lead complex construction projects from start to finish. Your strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations and your strong communication and collaboration skills will allow you to effectively interface with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to successfully deliver multi-million dollar construction projects.

  • Identify new business opportunities, maintain client relationships, and write proposals.

  • Problem-solve and analyze issues that crop up on construction projects and quickly develop effective solutions.

  • Lead teams, interface with clients, collaborate with other functions like engineering, etc.

  • Actively participate in the development of proposals that accurately and concisely define the scope of work, which achieves the clients' objectives and support group decisions.

  • Construction projects have many moving parts so you will be highly organized and attentive to details.

  • Construction often involves dealing with changes in timelines, budgets, etc. You are able to adapt and think on your feet.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive construction management experience (15+ years) with at least 5 years directly managing projects. Proven ability to lead complex construction projects end-to-end. Food, beverage, consumer goods, or life science sector experience required.

  • Knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, safety regulations, contracts, estimating, etc. PE licensure or construction management degree highly desired.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Should be able to effectively direct construction staff and field crews.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must interface well with clients, subcontractors, architects, etc.

  • Sharp problem-solving skills. Able to analyze issues that come up on the jobsite and quickly implement solutions.

  • Organized and detail-oriented. Important for overseeing multiple construction timelines, budgets, safety plans, etc.

  • Safety-focused. Experience implementing comprehensive safety programs and monitoring jobsite safety. OSHA training a plus.

  • Technologically savvy. Should be adept with PM software, scheduling programs, building information systems, etc.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to jobsites when required.

  • BS/MS Architecture or BS/MS degree in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school. (Preferred)
