If you want to grow your skills and develop your career, find out more at www.imerys.com The PositionDirector of Communications and Public Relations Job Summary Based at our North America headquarters in Roswell, Georgia, the Director of Communications and Public Relations will coordinate the organization's North American regional communications and public relations strategy.
Reporting to the Global Communications Director (based in Paris) and functionally to the VP Human Resources North America, this individual will work collaboratively with senior regional leadership to develop and implement communication strategies aligned with global strategies that will have the greatest impact in the North American market, as well as help build awareness and a positive reputation for Imerys in the region. The Director of Communications and Public Relations will have responsibility for ensuring appropriate implementation and adaptation of global initiatives and messages; stakeholder/media relations; issues management; public affairs/government relations; litigation communications; and corporate brand. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Global Communications department and regional senior leadership to develop communications strategies that will broaden reach and deepen impact.
Collaborate with outside advisors and senior leadership at the Group and regional level to oversee and implement issues management and litigation support efforts. Serve as the primary on-the-record spokesperson for Imerys North America. Manage all media relations efforts including top-tier print, broadcast, regional and trade publications.
Develop and refine Imerys North American story/messages to ensure organizational consistency and understanding. Identify significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support the business, and create and implement plans to leverage. Interface with marketing, regulatory, legal and others to assure seamless and integrated programs.
Manage and direct all communication with all third party public relations agencies, in coordination with the Group Communications team Counsel senior leaders on communications and public affairs risks and opportunities. Qualifications 15+ years of relevant experience expected. Bachelors degree required.
Significant corporate/strategic communications and public relations experience that includes a blend of advocacy and media relations. Significant experience as an on-the record spokesperson. Familiarity with international organizations and global branding Familiarity with crisis and litigation communications.
Ability to coach and support senior leaders as spokespersons. Able to influence without direct authority. Strong team player; exceptional writer and content creator.
