This position plans, manages and directs all communications activities, internal and external for PSTA, including advertising, media and public relations, social media, corporate partnerships, branding. Manages the efficient operations of the Marketing Division.
Plans, develops and implements strategic communications and marketing plans and promotions to positively affect PSTA's image in the community and increase utilization of PSTA transit services.
Plans, develops, and implements corporate and targeted marketing programs with businesses, community groups, and governmental bodies to educate these groups about the benefits of public transit, encourage use of transit services, and form partnerships.
Plans, develops, and implements promotional, educational, and image advertising campaigns, to include both traditional media (TV, radio, newspaper, direct mail), as well as new digital media (web ads, social media ads, new and emerging platforms).
Plans, develops, and oversees PSTA's pro-active media relations activities.
Plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive social media strategy to effectively achieve specific business outcomes and select appropriate social media channels to maximize content delivery.
Supervises the development and maintenance of PSTA's website including design, organization, and content oversight.
Manages PSTA's brand identity to ensure consistency in agency image and reputation.
Develops and oversees agency marketing and communications content creation, development, and distribution.
Directs the creative development of informational and promotional materials (printed and digital) to ensure creative high quality product. This includes posters, flyers, timetables, maps, brochures, interior bus signage, public hearing advertisements, service adjustment materials and notices/advertisements, etc.
Manages agreements and relationships with third-party vendors such as advertising agencies, suppliers, revenue generating agencies, etc.
Participates on major projects teams such as Central Avenue Rapid Transit, Flamingo, AV, Car Free Living.
Directs and monitors department staff.
Develops and manages the department budget.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related area.
Experience: Five (5) years' progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, and social media, with at least three (3) years' experience in a supervisory capacity. Public sector experience preferred.

Knowledge of: Creatively developing and implementing marketing plans; public advocacy; methods and techniques of market research; producing cost effective advertising programs; public information media; principles and practices of supervision; budget development.
Skilled in: Creative development of strategic public campaigns; critical thinking skills; solid organization methods; strong copy writing and copy editing; personnel and agency management; verbal and written communications; interpersonal relationships; coordinating activities with other departments.
Abilities: Develop innovative and creative marketing strategies; work with businesses and elected officials; plan and coordinate a broad range of work activities; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; present to citizen groups, Board committees, national conferences and other audiences; exercise sound judgement; organize activities and delegate; motivate staff.
