The Director of Collegeof Business Alumni Relations is responsible for creating and managingrelationships with alumni, students, and members of the business community whoare interested in supporting the University of Colorado Springs (UCCS) Collegeof Business (COB). This position will require creativity and energy indesigning new events that will excite our alumni to become involved in the

College's activities and ultimately become College benefactors. To this extent,the Director will work closely with campus development to secure programsponsorships and assist with donor cultivation to perpetuate alumni relatedactivities. Further, the Director will work to continue the success of the

College legacy events such as the Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award Luncheon andthe Career Coaching Program. The Director will broadly engage in strategicevent planning, creative marketing, program development, and administrativeduties. Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

Alumni Relations:

  • Manages college alumni relations program, oversees associated budgets and coordinates all aspects of alumni special events.

  • Collaborates with the College and departments to develop affinity-based communication and programming.

  • Conducts benchmarking and other research on such projects as stewardship, outreach efforts, alumni engagement, UCCS alumni locations

  • Solicits corporate and individual sponsorships to support COB programs in collaboration with campus development office.

  • Conducts research of alumni and donors in coordination with campus office to support events, stewardship, and other activities.

  • Executes alumni recognition program via letters, social media, and other means.

  • Provides event support for the College events such as Graduation Brunch, Graduation Fair, dean breakfasts, and other college events.

  • Works closely with campus development staff on alumni outreach efforts and strategies.

  • Manages the Alumni Executive Board and selection of scholarship recipients.

  • Secures and manages sponsorships for college and special events.

  • Coordinates alumni chapter and volunteer programs.

  • Partners with career services for alumni career services and mentoring program.

  • Manages the College database updates, volunteers, and alumni membership cards.

  • Partners and coordinates with campus Alumni Office and Annual Fund office.

  • Coordinates visibility and presence at student events.

Printed and ElectronicCommunication:

  • Manages alumni publications, including working with a designer, creating all content, coordinating all photography, generating a mailing list and managing the mailing process in partnership with campus marketing and communications offices.

  • Manages publication of alumni information brochure, alumni directory and traditions publication, including writing copy, working with designers, and managing printing and production.

  • Manages production of alumni marketing videos, including outreach, annual fund, and profiles.

  • Creates and distributes alumni e-newsletter.

  • Coordinates e-communication with seniors and recent graduates.

Website and SocialMedia:

  • Manages alumni website structure, design, HTML, content and photography.

  • Manages Alumni Association presence on social media.

  • Tracks analytics on website and oversees analytics for other communication platforms.

The successful applicant will possess the following competencies, knowledge,skills, and abilities:

  • Highlyorganized and independent worker with excellent oral, written, andinterpersonal skills.

  • Computerliterate and can competently use software programs including Microsoft Officeand Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).

  • Commandof Internet and social media networks (ex: Facebook and LinkedIn); able todiscern analytics and build an online presence using content marketing.

  • Expertadministrative skills, including organization, punctuality, and efficiency.

  • Skilledtechnical knowledge of email and event registration platforms.

  • Creativeand visionary, as well as shows some passion to give back to the college and/ormake a positive difference at UCCS.

  • Self-assertiveand confident; able to speak in front of people, comfortable with serving in ahosting role, making introductions, and mingling.

  • Independent,able to create one's own schedule, able to manage several responsibilities atonce and work is performed fully independently.

  • Abilityto cast long-term vision and enact short-term strategy.

Salary: $58,000 - $62,000

Forthe purposes of FLSA this position has been determined to be exempt from (noteligible for) overtime under FLSA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CompletedBachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

  • At least 2 years of full-timeequivalent professional event planningexperience (for example, as a job duty of a current or previous position).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in alumni relations (that included fundraising duties).

  • Experienceworking with faculty, staff, and students in a traditional university setting.

  • Experienceand competence in event planning

  • Experience performing financial functions suchas maintaining and monitoring budgets, creating purchase orders/requisitions,and procurement duties.

  • Experiencewith campus information systems and reporting tools (e.g. PeopleSoft, ConcurTravel & Expense System).

The Alumni Director integrates Alumni programs into WWP's strategic outcomes in alignment with the strategic plan, and ensures integration of WWP vision, mission, and culture among Alumni staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Responsible for the WWP Alumni engagement program for either the east coast region, or central and west coast regions. Provide strategic direction to management-level staff to achieve Alumni program goals and objectives. * Provide leadership to Alumni teams for ongoing staff development. Ensure consistent organizational messaging and communication to Alumni team. Coach, train, and develop the team. * Provide leadership direction to staff to ensure goals, objectives, and KPIs are met, and the Alumni program strategic plan is tactically executed. * Assume integral role in talent identification, hiring, succession planning, and team structure. * Provide leadership to Alumni teams for ongoing program development. Identify and develop methods to maintain and ensure optimal outcomes and programmatic development opportunities. Ensure Alumni programmatic goals are in alignment with WWP's overall strategic plan. Ensure engagement opportunities are consistent with the mission, values and vision of WWP. Identify potential activities and potential issues surrounding them. * Identify and develop strategic and operational methods for outreach to wounded warriors and family members. Connect with them, introduce them to WWP, maintain contact, develop ongoing relationships with individual warriors, triage their needs, and increase participation in WWP-sponsored events. * Ensure the relevance and strategic alignment of WWP Alumni events based upon the feedback received from warriors and families. Monitor the overall Alumni population and identify, analyze, and report deficiencies or gaps in programs and services, including review of VA, DoD, other third-party organizations, and WWP programs and services. * Ensure Peer Leader opportunities and Collegiate Sports initiatives are integrated into Alumni programming. * Track, review, evaluate, and report to leadership on progression of Alumni team outcomes. Collect and report results and performance metrics for Alumni events and activities. Evaluate initiatives, trends, and metrics for program modification or inclusion. * Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with WWP teammates across the country, to ensure Alumni issues are successfully resolved and communicated appropriately. * Speak to diverse audiences about all WWP programs and services. Develop community support for WWP. Present WWP vision and values to the community, communicating the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspire them to become involved with and support the WWP vision. * Forecast, develop, and manage the Alumni program budget. * Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate Alumni projects and contracts. * Other related duties as assigned.
