Position Duties/Responsibilities

The Office of Clinical Practices and School Partnerships assigns clinical placements for all field experiences and Residency semesters, completes all state licensing paperwork, ensures compliance with state programming policies, communicates directly with district personnel and strengthens partnerships, creates and oversees Site Coordinator ongoing training for process improvement, facilitates technology assignments for compliance with district MOUs, and leads recruitment initiatives.

Additionally, the Director will perform the responsibilities which require: (1) being the liaison between the university and school district, (2) participating in mentor teacher trainings and stakeholder meetings, and (3) support for and oversight of Site Coordinators.

A person is needed to fill this position that can:

  • Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with schools, educators, and community organizations to enhance clinical practice opportunities in programmatic field placements/residency.

  • Policy Navigation: Ensure compliance with Louisiana higher education policies and regulations governing clinical practice and school partnerships, especially those impacting teacher certification.

  • Problem-Solving: Address day-to-day challenges promptly and effectively, employing strong problem-solving skills.

  • Collaboration: Work with faculty and staff to align clinical practice experiences with curriculum objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and refine processes within clinical practices to enhance efficiency and student learning outcomes.

  • Assessment of Programmatic Outcomes: Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of clinical practice programs, ensuring alignment with education standards and goals.

  • Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all clinical practice processes and initiatives.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Earned a master's degree or higher in education at the time of appointment.

  • Experience in secondary or higher education, particularly in clinical practice or school partnerships

  • Knowledge of state-level higher education policies

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education settings

Preferred:

  • Evidence of knowledge and implementation of Co-teaching, Providing Quality Verbal and Written Academic Feedback, and effective coaching practices

  • Evidence of leadership in professional development

  • Experience with data-driven instructional decision making

  • University teaching experience

  • Knowledge of standard requirements: Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC), Louisiana Components of Effective Teaching (LCET), Louisiana Teacher Preparation Competencies, and Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Standards, High Leverage Practices (HLP)

  • Evidence of collaboration with stakeholders, such as students, teachers, districts/parishes.

The prospective faculty member is responsible for the cost of the evaluation. McNeese typically accepts evaluations by World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.www.ece.org.
