Director of Clinical Operations

$15,000 Sign-On Bonus

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is searching for a Director of Clinical Operations. This individual will be responsible for all operations within our Laboratory division, Gynecologic Oncology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology service lines in our southern division. These divisions include 19 physicians, 11 APP's and operates out of 2 sites. They will be responsible for setting and leading a culture of clinical and operational excellence. The right candidate will promote teamwork, manage through accountability, and represent our service standard of always "putting the patient in the center of the room". They will also continually evaluate practice strategies and execute cancer center leadership initiatives to meet changing national, state, and local needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $170,000-$195,000. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating, managing, and nurturing clinical workflows that put the patient at the center of the care model.

  • Mentors and develops practice managers and other direct reports.

  • Responsible for the integrity of all patient touches within the clinic setting.

  • Responsible for developing a multidisciplinary vision, communicating that vision, and collaborating with all applicable team members to achieve it.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains a plan of organization, recommends change to Executive Director.

  • Directs the development and implementation of organizational procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.

  • Advises and assists in developing organizational objectives and plans for their achievement.

  • Within scope of authority, oversees the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon clinical and business need.

  • Responsible for managing all policies and procedures that impact clinical operations.

  • Ensures effective administrative and clinical staff coverage for the practice within budgetary guidelines.

  • Monitors, analyze, assess, and communicate practice progress. Considers present and planned capacity. In financial terms, considers manpower and practice needs, including facilities and technology.

  • Directs the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out functions of the practice. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.

  • Oversees development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.

  • Works closely with local network resources including but not limited to director of: Business office; Research; Marketing; Pharmacy and Managed Care.

  • Responsible for developing an accurate capital, financial, and labor budget as well as adhering to the budget and managing expenses.

  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Registered Nurse or other advanced clinical degree preferred.

  • Minimum seven years of experience in healthcare management and operations, including at least five (5) years in a managerial capacity with experience coaching, developing, and managing staff.
