The Director of Client Excellence is part of the Environmental leadership team and leads Environmental client strategy and business development activities across the US. This position can be located in one of our west coast offices or in Mission, KS or Princeton, NJ.

The Director of Client Excellence leads a client-focused business development model and is dedicated to achieving the goals of client satisfaction and technical excellence in the delivery of our services for targeted clients. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy for a portfolio of clients.

  • Establish and meet the overall annual sales goal for the Environmental Business Unit as a whole.

  • Direct strategy and activities for Client Service Managers. Assign sales goals and other client account objectives, and support their efforts to meet goals and objectives.

  • Serve as a Client Service Manager and be responsible for leading sales and growing personal client accounts and portfolios.

  • Provide coaching and leadership in team building, account development, cross-selling, account planning, and account management.

  • Develop a communications strategy for the Environmental business unit.

  • Develop appropriate training programs and present training to management and staff.

  • Identify, develop and distribute appropriate tools (e.g., lead tracking, forecasted future sales, CSM accountability) to support client-focused business development.

Qualifications

  • At least ten years of relevant experience with proven success in client development and management in environmental consulting.

  • Degree in engineering, geology, science or equivalent experience is preferred.

Develop budgets, staffing requirements, meet hiring schedules. * Conduct regular gap analysis to identify service expansion needs or service offering changes. * Lead team member (individual and manager) development through clear goal setting, training plans, regular mentoring and performance reviews. * Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, operations, performance management and other business units/teams. * Maintains expert level knowledge of Cox Automotive products, as well as the industry expertise, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, pursuing certifications * Develop repeatable and scalable processes to improve project quality and delivery. Qualifications: * 10+ years management experience in a professional services, technology, or consulting workplace * Possess strong business acumen and customer focus * High energy, enthusiastic, proactive and results-oriented * An analytical mind capable for "out-of-the-box" thinking to solve problems * Outstanding organization and leadership abilities * Experience developing, tracking, and measuring team and individual performance metrics * Must demonstrate relationship building, networking and collaboration, negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills.
