ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of Career Success at Fullstack Academy, you will lead the efforts to grow the impact we have for our students and alums. Youll lead a team of Career Success processionals as they serve students across our campuses and programs. Youll build systems and processes to ensure that we deliver exceptional outcomes for ever-growing numbers of students and alums. Youll work to build partnerships with premium tech employers to drive value for Fullstack, our students, and those employers. Youll develop programming and events for students, alums and employers. Youll drive the creation of content on various job-search topics to make sure our students are prepared and feel comfortable and confident to face the tech recruiting process.

This role is based in our New York City campus and reports directly to our CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Guide the creation of content, resources and programming for immersive software education students to ensure they are ready for their new careers as software engineers
  • Design and build partnerships with key tech employers of choice in the New York City market, providing value for employer partners, students and alums, and the company
  • Create and launch new career services products and content targeted to provide value to our alums on their second job search and beyond
  • Lead a team of career success professionals in both business development and career coaching roles
  • Develop, design and implement systems to meticulously track placement status and outcomes of every graduate and meet key metrics related to students professional outcomes
  • Stay on top of hiring trends and continuously develop our Career Success curriculum to ensure that students are equipped to land their dream jobs

QUALIFICATIONS

Youre a great candidate if you have:

  • 5+ years experience in agency or programmatic recruiting, or leading a career services function at a major university system with a proven commitment to driving outcomes for students
  • 2+ years of experience in Business Development or Partnership Development
  • A deep understanding of the goals, processes, and nuances of Tech Recruiting
  • The ability to conceptualize and design systems and processes that can meet our placement goals at scale, such as communication automation, etc.
  • A data-driven approach to identifying, targeting and driving action on challenges
  • Experience leading a team
  • A passion for mentoring others to succeed
  • Infectious positive energy paired with remarkable empathy
  • A passion for creating positive outcomes in peoples lives through education

You will lead classes aimed at preparing them for the job hunt. You’ll conduct coaching sessions and provide follow-up support to our alumni to ensure they’re engaging in the behaviors they need to be successful while searching. You’ll create content on various job-search topics to help out students feel comfortable, confident and prepared to face the tech industry. </p> <p><br></p><p>This role is based in our New York City campus and reports to our Head of Career Success. </p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p>In this role, you will:</p><ul> <li>Support a portfolio of current students alumni, ultimately owning their successful job placement</li> <li>Lead Career Success lectures and workshops related to job search techniques, interviewing, negotiation, etc.</li> <li>Hold regular office hours to guide students through the job search process by providing feedback on materials (resumes, social profiles, etc.), mock interviews, and other Career Success Support</li> <li>Organize Hiring Day, our capstone event when students meet potential employers</li> <li>Track placement outcome of every graduate meticulously and meet key metrics related to students’ professional outcomes</li> <li>Stay on top of hiring trends and continuously develop our Career Success curriculum to ensure that students are equipped to land their dream jobs</li> </ul> <p><br></p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><p>You’re a great candidate if you have:</p><ul> <li>1-2 years of experience on a recruiting team</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>A track-record as a diligent, organized, self-starter</li> <li>A passion for mentoring others to succeed</li> <li>Infectious positive energy paired with remarkable empathy</li> <li>The desire to be an extraordinary team player</li> </ul> <p><br></p><p>You’re an exceptional candidate if you also have:</p><ul> <li>Worked at young, fast-growing organizations</li> <li>Worked with and provided career support (i.e. coaching, recruiting, etc..) to software developers</li> </ul> Fullstack Academy New York NY
