JOB SUMMARY:

Directs and administers programs and services to enhance the career and professional development of Clemson football scholar-athletes; Professional development programming consists of an micro-internship and externship program, Business Week, Career Hiring Fair, shadowing opportunities, and professional skill workshops; Responsible for increasing network of program partners, professional mentors, and employers of football scholar-athletes.

JOB DUTIES:

25% - Essential

  • Leads all creation, planning, and execution of career and professional development initiatives, opportunities, and experiences for football scholar-athletes, including, but not limited to: resume and interview preparation, Business Week, Career Hiring Fair, micro-internships, externships, career shadowing, career aptitude assessments and other career exploration activities; Co-leads supervision and management of P.A.W. Journey¿s Coordinator, student workers, and interns.

25% - Essential

  • Provides daily mentorship, counseling, and support to football scholar-athletes that addresses their developmental needs regarding their personal, academic, professional, leadership, spiritual, etc. wellbeing; Co-leads player relations programs such as Tigerhood mentorship and P.A.W. Journey Ambassadors to further support the holistic development of football scholar-athletes; Consistently tracks, analyzes, and evaluates the holistic needs of the entire football team as well as each individual scholar-athlete to differentiate how to meet their needs on a short and long-term basis, with an emphasis on their career and professional development needs; Supports the career transition of football alumni and former players from college and other careers.

20% - Essential

  • Cultivates and stewards partnerships internal and external to Clemson Football with emphasis on partners that will provide career exploration and employment opportunities and experiences; Collaborates with the Career Center, UPIC, Athletic Academic Services, etc. for on-campus career exploration and employment opportunities; Assists with donor cultivation and stewardship and collaborates with IPTAY to achieve P.A.W. Journey¿s endowment and garner new and consistent support for all P.A.W. Journey initiatives and opportunities, with emphasis on annual career and professional development initiatives and opportunities; Collaborates with Clemson Athletics¿ Compliance to ensure all career and professional development opportunities, corporate partnerships, etc. are following required NCAA, state, and university protocol

15% - Essential

  • Consistently progress monitors and assesses the success and impact of the P.A.W. Journey curriculum, with emphasis on 5th Quarter initiatives and metrics, including but not limited to: career placement, microinternship engagement, career/professional and academic indicators of employment, average compensation, typical companies and industries of interest and entry, etc; Provides sector-specific statistics, trends, and practices that support the scholar-athlete¿s transition to the marketplace; Researches and evaluates career and professional development industry best practices to provide the most impactful opportunities and experiences

to football scholar-athletes consistently and with longevity.

15% - Essential

  • Assists with on-campus recruiting via on-campus visits, Junior Days, and home football games; Assists with all presentations on Clemson Football¿s player relations programming to students, athletic department and university staff, and other partners internal and external to Clemson; Assist with all media and marketing for P.A.W. Journey and Clemson Football player relations; Perform other duties as directed (e.g. assist with camps and clinics, guests of Head Coach, etc.).

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary: $140,000.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
