GUA Data Analytics (DA) organization is responsible for building the Data Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), building right alignment between business units and functional groups, and identifying the business problems that offer the greatest opportunities across the enterprise. The GUA Data Analytics is critical part of Innovation and Digital Labs to implement a range of initiatives including the implementation of advanced analytic modeling techniques such as machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). These initiatives will bring the transformation into our business model to accelerate underwriting and claims operations, drive digital transformation, differentiate AXIS and enhance our customer engagement and experience. GUA Data Analytics organization is also responsible for implementing the advanced analytics algorithms to enhance and automate underwriting and claims operations, to predict underwriting risk and implement risk-based pricing, to help differentiate services and products, and to accelerate business decisions, drive digital transformation, differentiate AXIS and enhance our customer engagement and experience.
The Business Integration and Product Management team is innovative, collaborative and high-energy with a positive attitude to engage Segments / Functions in a dialogue and jointly identify complex business problems which can be solved with data analytics solutions. This is a team of entrepreneurial business development specialists, experts in insurance and reinsurance, who promote data analytics as company asset, network across Segments / Functions to identify potential business demand for data analytics, and help to solidify this demand as standard use cases, which may become prioritized for delivery as PoCs and MVPs. Moreover, jointly with senior stakeholders (Chief Data Officer, Digital & Innovation Director) the team delivers a number of communications artefacts on data analytics for the broader AXIS organization.
The Director of Business Integration and Product Management is responsible for engaging with Segments / Functions to promote the use of data analytics, helping to identify business problems which can be resolved with data analytics and supporting Segments / Functions in capturing this demand as standard candidate use cases. The role requires strong business development and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a simple manner.
The Product Manager has a strong understanding of Insurance and Reinsurance industries, comes up with ideas on potential use cases across the insurance process and proactively reaches out to internal stakeholders, generating new leads and maintaining established relationships.
This roles reports directly to AXIS Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) and supports him and the Digital and Innovation Director in driving the data analytics agenda across the company.
Partnership business and cross functional teams to conduct and lead brainstorm sessions to identify advanced analytics opportunities to advance automation, help with knowledge discovery, support decision-making, gain insights from data, streamline business processes, and enable new capabilities
Deep dive of business problems and perform exploratory analysis to identify potential opportunities to enhance and automate underwriting and claims operations, to predict underwriting risk and implement risk-based pricing, to help differentiate services and products, and to accelerate business decisions and drive digital transformation with real-time analytical insights
Collaborate and co-lead the portfolio of data analytic products from strategic planning to tactical execution and the go-to-market strategy. Work closely with stakeholders and customers to gather feedback and understand the evolving business needs. Champion new product ideas and existing product enhancements based on market intelligence.
Build strong relationships with business partners and documenting the business problems and goals
Collaborate with business partners and analyzing current people, process, and technology integration and documenting and implementing new processes, workflows and integration to drive business efficiencies
Subject matter expert and serving as a liaison between business , data science and engineering teams for researching and identifying the business problems that offer the greatest opportunities across the enterprise
Determine opportunities for improvement across process, tooling and data automation to optimize costs and decrease turnaround time
Lead all aspects of Product/Model Development from product strategy, ideation, and design execution to final production
Develop and execute the strategic view and road-map applying automation solutions to critical business problems. Engage directly with Data Science and engineering to build actionable, scalable, parameterized data products that can be adjusted quickly based on market and client needs, tool advancement, new information, or industry shifts
Lead efforts in advanced analytics solutions to produce value corporate's unstructured and structured data assets utilizing methodologies from machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing
Develop end-to-end efficient model solutions that drive measurable outcomes. Manage the model development lifecycle, including both working with IT partners to identify what data are needed, and training the business end-users on how to leverage the modeling output
Mentor, lead and develop a team of product managers and perform as a hands-on product manager to design, implement, test, prototype, and deploy solutions. Identify team and individual goals to enable maximizing potential, partnering with team members to develop career path, managing performance and providing feedback.
Work with senior leaders in development, assessment, improvement, and transfer of solutions to stakeholder teams as needed
Manage data driven projects involving timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered with the highest quality and within specified timeframes
Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations that explain advanced analytics concepts, technology, and inner workings of solutions to broader teams including non-technical audiences
Be a thought leader and contribute to next generation risk infrastructure and applicable AI technologies for the company
10+ years of relevant product management experience; product management or business development for an enterprise predictive analytics or data products
MS in a quantitative field such statistics, econometrics, operations research, computer science, applied mathematics. MBA huge plus.
8+ years of hands on and efficient programming and deep data analysis skills using SQL, R, Python, Tableau or similar statistical packages are a must
Be able to generate actionable insights from data and leverage data analysis to help business people to make business decisions using trend analysis to deep dive on underwriting and claims performance.
Working knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum, Iterative, XPP) and continuous delivery tools and techniques
Comfortable bending between the tactical and strategic and ability to work well as a member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members
Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation
Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike
Significant experience executing the proof of concepts (POCs), and providing a detail change recommendations, and implementing data science solutions in an enterprise
Experience on developing a long-term analytics innovation strategy and driving those across various levels in the organization
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor the communication style to the right audience, from the analytic professional to executive leaders.
Experience providing insights to support strategic decisions, including preparing and delivering insights and recommendations
Comfortable with loosely defined requirements where you exercise your analytical skills to collaborate with the rest of the team to build solutions
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize & communicate complex results to senior leaders. Attention to detail with focus on data quality, data consistency and criticality
