The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new strategic alliances and managing existing ones. The position will report directly to the SVP of Business Development and will work in a collaborative environment with our business development team to maximize revenue opportunities and optimize profits. The individual will increase the company's market share by building strategic relationships in a highly segmented marketplace comprised of brokers, Third Party Administrators (TPA's) etc.
The Director of Business Development will manage relationships with other staff functions to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused to support selling objectives. This position is full time, salaried and exempt.
This position is remote and flexible.
Candidate will need to reside near the Dallas, Texas area and have the ability to meet with clients to build working relationships.
We will conduct interviews via MS Teams.
Duties
Drive new business and increase revenue
Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts
Director owns revenue generation for assigned products
Understand the products and systems of strategic partners
Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly
Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
Assist marketing group in monitoring competitor products, sales and marketing activities
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
Manage RFP process for assigned products
Represent company at industry meetings/conferences to promote products
Maintain relationships and negotiate and close business opportunities
Provide monthly forecast reports showing sales volume and potential sales
Review and analyze individual sales performance against sales goals and strategic plan
Direct prospective advisor/broker/client/strategic partner visits, prepare pricing and create sales presentations
Apply research insights and to provide compelling advertising solutions based on the company's business strengths
Develop skill set and manage workflow for internal support team member
Develop knowledge of all business areas and products offered
Meet or exceed required level of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in all measured areas
Complete other projects as assigned by Senior Vice President or President
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have/be:

Ability to create very strong relationship building skills with excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Skilled at listening and influencing the conversation
Ability to ensure that key stakeholders within the company receive all relevant sales, customer, and product information during the product development and sales process

Ability to meet or exceed company annual sales goals
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work on various projects with different teams simultaneously with variable and flexible schedules
A proven track record of successfully landing large strategic accounts and sustaining the business over several years.
Ability to plan and conduct various kinds of meetings
Ability to resolve problems quickly and creatively
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
5-10 years of marketing and sales experience with consumer products
Demonstrated sales experience in employee benefit plans
Oral and written communication skills
Consultative selling skills
Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy
High level of financial and business acumen
Staff consulting and relationship building skills
Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
Executive presence to influence senior decision-makers
Knowledge of advertising industry
