Job Title: Director of Business and Industry Services

Reports To: Superintendent

Contract: 12-month

SUMMARY: Directs and coordinate activities concerning programs and services to meet the needs of business and industry in the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing training programs, classes, and services for the district's business and industry services division, public services programs, and evening services. Included are the small business management program, bid assistance program, industry training program, fire training, EMT, and adult career development program.

Implement an advisory program to include business and industry representative, technology center businesses and industry personnel, state and local agency representatives to assist in the identification and development of new and innovative services for the business and industry services department. To include SBM, bid assistance, industry specific program, and ACD.

Work with school personnel to devise and implement performance measures strategies to ensure the delivery of targeted services beneficial to the growth of area businesses, industries, and communities. To include formal monthly department meetings and development of reports verifying progress toward identified goals and benchmarks.

Work with school personnel in the business and industry division to assist in needs analysis, curriculum development, and training content to meet the identified needs of clients and students.

Participate in the development, implementation, and operation of marketing program for the business and industry division to increase the number of clients, students, and businesses served by the school. To include off-campus and community based short-term classes, flexible delivery course and program offerings, and recruitment of new clients.

Plan and administer the school's business and industry budget regarding training programs, supplies and materials, and promotion of the division's programs and services. To include supervision of daily tuition collection and receipting for all areas in the business and industry services division.

Participate in the district's management team for the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the school. To include participation with daytime program personnel, educational services personnel, and the administration.

Participate in the district's marketing and communications efforts for the promotion of the district through participation in area civic organizations, community activities, and sending school activities for the integration of school-wide efforts to increase the school's visibility in the district.

Participate in the area's economic development efforts resulting in community growth, cities increase in sales tax base, and job development.

Plan and administer an annual budget for BIS, ACD, Fire, and EMT. To include supervision of reporting to ODCTE, recommending; tuition and fee schedules for above defined programs.

Work with District BIS staff to develop a strategic plan to increase the number of companies the District serves.

Serve as a liaison for the district with the ODCTE for securing access to training assistant for the expansion of existing industry and development of new industry in the district. To include TIP's projects and other specialized training opportunities.

Assist in monitoring and maintaining records for reports to include those required by the ODCTE and those needed by the district to monitor the operations of the business and industry division.

Coordinate with the district's administrative staff and other personnel regarding the development and implantation of a capital improvement plan relating the business and industry services division and the district in general.

Work with the district's evening supervisor for the supervision of the district's evening classes, instructor recruitment and evaluation, and development and distribution of the catalog or other promotional methods to increase enrollment in the adult career development program.

Maintain membership and participate in professional organizations for personal professional development and the promotion of the district and Career Tech System.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise all professional staff and support staff in BIS, ACD, EMT, and Fire Training programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable law.

Education/Experience: Minimum of Bachelors Degree or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Hold or willing to attain the Business and Industry Certification through ODCTE.
