The Director of Analytics will lead strategy and execution for all analytic activities that support marketing transformation to audience-centric, lifecycle-based direct marketing within the telecom industry. The Director partners with internal and external clients and data providers, leveraging predictive analytics and advanced statistical techniques, to drive strategic thought and effective decision making. The ideal candidate has the business mindset to develop strong hypotheses on improving performance on business objectives and then translate raw data into insights that prove or disprove those hypotheses.
Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights and the "why" that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions
Design, build, and implement new report formats and layouts that provide fact-based support for hypothesis-based learning agendas and evolving business strategies
Manage project requirements, analytic processes, project resourcing and timelines for deliverables
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand the client's business situation and develop data driven insights that can be understood and implemented to drive marketing strategies
Provide developmental and managerial leadership to 2 direct reports
Bachelor or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
A minimum of 8 years professional hands-on experience translating analytics including statistical modeling, data mining, and advanced segmentation into actionable insights
A minimum of 5 years proven managerial or supervisory experience
Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently
Ability to think strategically and 'big picture'
Adept at developing relationships across diverse teams, including statistical, technical, and marketing resources
Ability to display data visually, creating powerful presentations which effectively quantify and justify value created to both analytical and non-analytical audiences
Highly motivated, curious, collaborative, and innovative
Must demonstrate an ability to proactively recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Telecomm or B2B marketing experience/knowledge
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
Hands-on programming experience in SAS, SPSS, or related language
