Sequoia is looking for an innovative, action-oriented, and results-driven Director of Analytics and Insights who can lead a growing team to deliver high value trend analysis, benchmarking, and data driven insights to many of the fastest growing technology companies in the world. You will manage a team of Industry Analysts and Client Analysts who are advising HR and Finance leaders on how to allocate their employee benefits investment their second largest line item cost for many of these people-first companies. Your organization will present financial analysis, identify industry trends, evaluate competitive benchmarks, and provide actionable recommendations to help clients achieve the most leverage from their employee benefits spend.

Your team will also provide the data, analytics and insights that support sales to new prospects and renewals to existing clients. The data-driven, high touch advice and guidance we provide is Sequoia's special sauce. It allows our prospects and clients to feel confident they are making the best investment decisions to achieve their strategic employee related goals. Sequoia's platform and offerings unify our client's employee experience of benefits, HR, retirement and insurance services.

You will be responsible for your organization's strategic direction, operational execution and delivery against expected performance metrics. You will use your insight and imagination to identify ways to improve the impact of the analysis, optimize workflows, streamline processes, and deliver valuable insights, benchmarking and price quotes to Sequoia clients. You will partner closely with our sales team to define strategic objectives, evaluate options, and communicate your recommendations. You will also work closely with our Client Service teams to finalize requirements and seamlessly manage handoffs as clients move through their annual employee benefit lifecycle.

What You Get To Do

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key leaders to evolve the role that data plays in the business

  • Define processes for scalability of operations to enable improved responsiveness and data insight

  • Develop business intelligence presentations and templates for clients and internal teams

  • Identify analytical plans, methodology options and outputs for various stakeholders

  • Design and present findings including benefit cost analysis, plan comparisons, and enrollment overviews

  • Meet with our client's financial and HR executives to discuss insights and recommendations

  • Increase efficiency within your organization by identifying and executing improvement initiatives

  • Seek out opportunities to drive innovation through data with the development and introduction of new offerings

  • Hire, ramp, and manage performance to drive employee development and maximize team retention

  • Build, develop, and retain a high performing team that delivers positive contributions to the company

  • Minimal travel: Visit Sequoia offices in Phoenix and New York City

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working in analytics or business intelligence

  • 5+ year of experience managing teams

  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated success leading in entrepreneurial business operations experiencing high growth

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills plus ability to work with both technical & business stakeholders

  • Experience hiring and developing a team of high performing, passionate professionals and managers

  • Strong project, program, and process management skills

  • Ability to translate findings/results into clear, actionable and executable insights

  • Experience with Cloud Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions such as Periscope, Looker, Domo

  • Experience building business- centric data visualizations using tools such as Chart.io, Sisense,Tableau, etc.

  • Experience with statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and common analytical frameworks

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or SAS is valuable

  • Health care, employee benefits or HR related experience is strongly preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Data Science or equivalent preferred

This area of Sony Interactive Entertainment has seen significant growth in recent years and continues to evolve with the industry. As a part of this evolution, we're exploring new direct-to-consumer business opportunities. We are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, interested in working together at the forefront of online retail experiences aimed at exceeding the expectations of the gaming community. The E-Commerce Insights & Analytics Lead will report to the E-commerce Head of the Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) Business of PlayStation. This critical role is responsible for commerce, merchandising and marketing analytics and insights, including KPIs, dashboarding and strategic intelligence. The initial focus of this role is outlined below, these will evolve as the business is established, and the organization requirements to form a contributing business unit with PlayStation's operations, are finalized. Responsibilities: * Collect and Analyze metrics from various data sources as it relates to Commerce (inventory, pricing, revenue/sales, orders, AOV, etc) and Merchandising/Marketing (traffic, search, engagement, path to purchase, conversion, etc) to produce compelling market research reports and KPI dashboard with measurable statistics * Help e-commerce process owners in understanding the key drivers (i.e. inputs) of their core processes, subject matter areas, and strategic decision. In particular, create ad-hoc queries & reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests * Provide daily reporting and insights as well as performing in-depth sales and audience analysis * Design multi-dimensional models, including the construction of Data Views and Reports * Use statistical data analysis methods to feed the continuous improvement pipeline with opportunities to pursue revenue generation, cost efficiencies, quality improvements and customer experience optimization * Manage and set standards for D2C Business Intelligence regarding report execution and tracking, program measure and evaluation, supplier analysis, stakeholder review, retail analytics, business insights, and ad hoc reporting * Provide input to the design, development and implementation of the D2C store e-commerce capabilities through data analytics * Work strategically with the D2C development team to ensure the correct implementation of tags and other tracking mechanisms * Identify data quality issues and support the data governance initiative by participating in necessary activities including data profiling * Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, conduct testing and evaluate testing results recommending and/or taking corrective action as necessary * Establish, implement and monitor reporting and documentation standards to ensure uniformity within the D2C organization and within the larger Global Store & Services division * Advise on A/B and multivariate testing on content and web pages, and store pages Qualifications: * 5+ years' experience in E-commerce related Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Web Analytics and/or Sales Forecasting, preferably using MicroStrategy, Adobe Analytics * Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience * Extensive track record of using data to influence and inform decisions. * Expert with business intelligence & Web analytics tools to run relevant reports and analysis * Creative, open-minded leader who is adaptive to change and able to function in a start-up-like dynamic environment, under tight deadlines. * Ability to craft system specifications and improvements to be shared with engineering teams.
