Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time, 12 month position for a Director of Alumni Engagement.

Job Description:

The Director of Alumni Engagement oversees all aspects of alumni engagement and provides leadership for alumni relations programming that complements and supports the mission of Franklin & Marshall College. Develops, in collaboration with College Advancement leaders and colleagues, an overarching strategy to increase alumni engagement and encourage philanthropy. Serves as Alumni Association Board's primary liaison with the College.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead all aspects of the alumni engagement program, including development and implementation of annual alumni engagement goals, objectives, strategies and tactics, operating plans, budgets, staffing and volunteer management plans and measurements of success. Responsible for overall alumni relations budget management.

  • Oversee staff to implement high quality engagement programs, including not limited to True Blue Weekend, Presidential Programs, and on campus, regional and virtual events. Programs should encourage alumni to serve as donors, volunteers, or informed ambassadors. Supervise, motivate and actively contribute to the professional development of department staff.

  • Recruit, train, manage and recognize assigned volunteers and groups, including but not limited to work with the Alumni Association Board. Serve as Alumni Association Board's primary liaison with the College.

  • Serve as a leader within College Advancement, working closely with other directors, assistant and associate vice presidents, and the vice president. Represent College Advancement and F&M on select campus committees, at a variety of programs and in communicating with individual alumni about a variety of topics, including sensitive matters.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • At least 4 years of professional work experience in Alumni Engagement or similar roles.

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This position requires driving for college business. The successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver's license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.

  • Successful interview.

  • Successful completion of background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years of professional work experience in Alumni Engagement or similar roles.

Additional Information:
