America's oldest independent law school is searching for the next chief alumni relations officer to lead us into the future. Albany Law School invites applications for the position of Director of Alumni Engagement & Institutional Events. This opportunity is charged with engaging alumni in strengthening Albany Law School's alumni relations programs, providing tangible benefits and results to the overall success of the strategic initiatives of Albany Law School. As we embark on planning for the next capital campaign, this position will be a key contributor and member of the senior leadership team in Institutional Advancement. The law school has recently completed a major $33 million three-year fundraising campaign which included a $15 million gift to support The Justice Center at Albany Law School, one of the largest gifts to any U.S. law school,

The position will:

• Create a fully integrated alumni engagement programs that will result in growing a pipeline of donors and potential donors. Works with affinity groups to build vibrant engagement opportunities to support Albany Law School's strategic initiatives.

• Serve as a key advisor in campaign strategies, partnering with other development staff to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship and recognition of donors.

• Personally cultivate and solicit annual gifts.

• Partner with the Assistant Dean of Admissions to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in the admissions process and partners

• with the Assistant Dean, Career and Professional Development Center to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking

• opportunities for students and alumni.

• Lead the activities and initiatives of the National Alumni Association, its Board and chapters ensuring their goals further institutional priorities and achieve annual objectives.

• Plan and implement law school major institutional events and programs.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree.

• Minimum five years of increasingly responsible professional level experience in alumni affairs, development or a related field. Familiarity with the legal profession and professionals desirable.

• Ability to successfully solicit gifts from alumni.

• Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to use them effectively.

• Ability to work nights and weekends and travel overnight to meet alumni and facilitate alumni events.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. Pay rate offered will be based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity. Comprehensive benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plan with 5% employer contribution, employer paid life insurance and disability coverage and generous paid time off (PTO, volunteer time off, holidays and parental leave). We are a Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligible employer.
