Director is responsible for maintenance, growth and expansion of Adult Education; Continuing Education; and Community Education. This position is responsible for building strong relationships with business and industry representatives and evolve those relationships as the skills gap expands to help meet the needs of the learner and employers. Director will provide a bridge for students starting in GED or ESL and link them to programming across all areas of the college; this programing prepares them for careers and/or a continuation beyond the community college setting. Director works with business and industry partners in various capacities including: partnerships, continuing education opportunities, board memberships, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall supervision Adult Education (GED, ESL, AOK) personnel; Cultural Outreach personnel; Community and Continuing Education personnel; and instructors and programs at multiple locations.
Write and secure grants including AEFLA, Migrant grants and seek and develop other funding sources.
Establish and build relationships with business, industry, and community organizations actively participate in selected events. Partnership development will take place in conjunction with the Dean of Career and Technical Education.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Directors and Dean of Career and Technical Education on Continuing Education activities, planning, and executing.
Supervise and collaborate with Assistant Directors in the department to hire qualified personnel for the various department positions.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Adult and Continuing Education team on various college and related activities.
Work with the Adult and Continuing Education Team to develop the catalog and other course materials to be available to the public in a timely manner.
Create efficient processes and procedures that allow for smooth operations across the department.
Utilize learner-centered pedagogy in training and mentoring instructors.
Submit all reports in a timely manner to the supervisor.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Leadership, or other closely related field.
Two-Three (2-3) years working in business/industry sector, preferably in a leadership or managerial role.
Three (3) years working in an education atmosphere, preferably at an instructor capacity or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Education, Business, Leadership or other closely related field.
Five (5) years working in an Education atmosphere, preferably at an instructor capacity or higher.
Five (5) years working in a business/industry sector, preferably in a leadership or managerial role.
SALARY RANGE: $61,800 - $77,200 annually; actual salary commensurate with Education and Experience.
WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
