The University of Southern Maine seeks applications for Director of Admissions. We are searching for a forward-thinking leader with a passion for higher education and commitment to student success.

The Director of Admissions plays a critical role in shaping the incoming student body and advancing the university's mission. The Director is responsible for national and international student recruitment for all undergraduate and graduate academic programs.

This highly visible position will supervise and mentor the admissions staff and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions. The Director will have the ability to evaluate and utilize data in decision-making to build and enhance enrollment and retention processes and strategies and will have the ability to manage a clear, service-oriented communication plan to students and other constituents. This is a full-time position with a starting annual salary up to $105,000. This position will be based primarily on the Gorham Campus, with frequent travel to our Portland and Lewiston-Auburn Campuses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of admissions/higher education administration with progressive responsibility.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Experience with event planning and marketing.

  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.
