Director of Admissions and Career Center
The Director of Admissions and Career Center is a new position designed to be a strong student advocate who, in conjunction with the Senior Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar will develop, train, and facilitate high performance teams in the Office of Admission, Welcome Center and Career Center. The Director oversees the admissions operations - including recruitment, front-desk concierge customer service, and provides leadership in developing and accessing innovative recruitment strategies and initiatives designed to attract new market segments and expand the student base. Along with immediate leadership and the Marketing Department, the Director will evaluate, develop, implement and monitor a college-wide student recruitment and communication plan. The Director will develop strong partnerships/alliances with academic divisions, alumni, Workforce Development Center, employers and the college's co-op specialists to provide services and outline the core functions of the newly developed Career Center.
Responsible for assisting with the planning and management of new student recruitment including visits to high schools and community agencies, participation in college fairs and community events and the opening of a new Welcome Center.
Appropriately integrates career services into the Welcome Center and admission activities so that career exploration is the centerpiece of the admissions process.
Supervises, trains and coaches Support Specialists to effectively greet visitors to the Welcome Center, assist prospective students and/or parents with questions, problems, related to their campus visit experience and ensure a positive experience for all those who come to Admissions/Welcome Center.
Help develop goals and core responsibilities for the office of Career Services as well as its employees. Implements yield tracking and applicant life cycle metrics; building on prospective student interest and incorporating key metrics to ensure enrollment success.
Responsible for building and maintaining a knowledge bank for Admissions, Career Services and Welcome Center employees.
Monitors, builds, and adjusts transition strategies to yield the new student percentage marker each semester.
Responsible for providing insight in developing and managing the budgets for all respective offices.
Support and encourage crossover services of Welcome Center/Admissions, Career Services and Transfer Center into a seamless experience that is customer focused.
Work with alumni to promote volunteer efforts that support Admission and Career Center activities.
Coordinates and configures electronic communication plan with prospects and applicants.
Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and enrollment management strategies to support the college mission and vision.
Collaborates with the entire college community for planning and execution of recruitment initiatives in order to achieve strategic enrollment objectives.
Engages in communication with off-campus constituencies including high schools, agencies, state and local professional organizations, area colleges, community based establishments, and other education partners to promote positive, consistent message about Cincinnati State Technical and Community College
At least five (5) years of progressive responsibility in a managerial role, two (2) of which were within higher education
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Above average computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Five years of experience in higher education from a regionally accredited college or university
Previous leadership experience in an admissions setting
Experience managing start-up or new projects with multiple operations
Experience working in Ellucian/Colleague
Familiarity with a community and/or technical college environment
Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
Attentive, positive, caring, outgoing, and professional demeanor
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and telephone skills
Highly developed customer service/hospitality skills
Appreciation of career development resources/tools and ability to integrate effectively into the student experience
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with a high level of efficiency
Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor.
Reports To: Sr. Director of Enrollment Services
Minimum Compensation: $75,000/year
Contract Affiliation: Non-Bargaining
