Director Of Activities

Praha Village, in New Prague, MN, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Activities to join our team! In this role, you will assist in implementing activities for residents in memory care and assisted living. Our ideal candidate has prior management experience, has experience working with elders, and has excellent interpersonal skills.

This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position available working 40 hours per week and one weekend every 8 weeks.

Director of Activities responsibilities:

• Implement high standards in the areas of organizing and coordinating the functions of the activities department.

• On-board and monitor success of volunteers and supervise staff members.

• Create an environment that meets the needs, wants and interests of residents, promoting all areas of group and 1-1 programming, as well as promoting desirable interaction independence.

• Drive the resident bus.

• Perform administrative functions within the facility.

• Comply with state and federal regulations.

• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Director of Activities skills and requirements:

• BA or BS degree in a health/human services related field required.

• Experience in a therapeutic activity department preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job.

• Is dependable and organized.

• Functional knowledge of computer hardware and software.

• Ability to respect confidentiality of resident information.

• Desire to work with the elderly in an assisted living setting.

• Ability to manage diverse individuals and multiple priorities at once.
