About the Position
What We are Looking for:
This is an in-office role in the Dallas area.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior leadership to align financial strategies with the organization's broader goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee the execution of financial systems and processes, ensuring operational efficiency and scalability.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead and manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the organization.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for potential cost optimization or operational improvement.
- Present comprehensive financial reports and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Continuously improve financial reporting practices to ensure accuracy and timeliness in data delivery.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and monthly/annual close processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, GAAP, and tax regulations.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks.
- Lead the preparation for external audits, ensuring accurate financial statements and timely filing.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring that the company maintains adequate working capital for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement cash management strategies to optimize fund usage and capital allocation.
Bank Covenant Reporting:
- Monitor and track compliance with financial covenants outlined in loan agreements.
- Prepare and present regular reports on covenant compliance to stakeholders, ensuring the company meets financial targets set by lending institutions.
- Address any breaches of financial covenants and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions if necessary.
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting systems, financial reporting processes, and workflows to increase operational efficiency and scalability.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and financial technologies to enhance reporting capabilities and process automation.
Team Development & Collaboration:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to build and maintain a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Establish clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support team members' professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, HR, and IT, to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to department heads, providing insights and support on financial matters.
Position Qualifications:
Critical Skills & Experience Required
- 8+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years of management experience in a senior leadership role, such as Controller or Finance Manager.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams, with a strong track record of mentoring, coaching, and building high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proven ability to lead complex financial systems, processes, and projects.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, Excel, etc.) and reporting tools.
Technical Skills
- Experience in a high-growth or startup environment is a plus.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or international finance operations is beneficial.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Industry certifications

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
