Job Summary:
The Director of Academic Formation provides instructional design and logistical support for all modalities, including academic partnerships, to students and faculty and oversees the advising of the Master's level students.
Primary Duties:
Instructional Design
Promote best practices for teaching and learning in all modalities (residential, online, and parish-based)
Support residential and adjunct faculty with instructional design in creation of course content for use in Canvas
Ensure the usage of Canvas by residential and adjunct faculty meets Trinity standards for residential, online, and parish-based education
Gather, review, and file course syllabi for all courses
Coordinate Parish Based Partnerships
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential institutional partners
Enlist, train, and support mentors for the parish-based courses
Oversee Advising for Master's Level Programs
Coordinate academic advising
Assign students in all modalities to Academic Advisee Groups
Serve as a resource for faculty members who serve as advisors
Manage the thesis process for Master's students who choose to write a thesis
Liaise with faculty to assign Supervisors for the Master's thesis projects
Liaise with faculty to assign Readers for the Master's theses defense
Schedule defense of Master's theses
Implement and manage the online portfolio system to help assess students' achievement of formational learning outcomes
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of learning/teaching theory and practice required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player
Administrative organizational skills
Highly competent in computer usage
Experience/Education Requirements:
Master's degree in theology, pedagogy, and/or related field
Anglican theology background preferred
Experience with Canvas, is required; experience with ePortfolio systems, preferred
Experience working in higher education, preferably theological
Experience working in higher education administration, preferred
Experience in developing online courses that use multiple forms of online education strategies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
Remain in a stationary sitting position 50% (or more) of the time
Navigate from office to office within the 2-story administrative building and around campus
Navigate to and within all buildings on campus
Lift weight up to 30 lbs
