The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), an Intercontinental Exchange company, seeks a Director, Business Development for our US Options business. This role will report to and work directly with the NYSE Options Head of Business Development to maintain and build key stakeholder relationships across the franchise, including market makers, order flow providers, retail brokers, institutional participants, and prospects. The candidate will be responsible for supporting competitive initiatives and sourcing growth opportunities ranging from system enhancements to general proactive outreach and idea generation derived from customer feedback. Near-term priorities include building on the positive momentum of NYSE Options by deepening relationships with independent liquidity providers and institutional clients. Success in this role will require collaboration with a variety of key internal groups (e.g. Sales, Technology, Legal) and productive engagement with our clients.
Proactively develop client relationships across the equity and equity index options community, including liquidity providers, consolidators, and trading floor participants, with a near term focus on institutional relationships, independent liquidity providers, inter-dealer brokers, and retail partners
Analyze client activity and industry trends to identify commercial opportunities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor agendas, capabilities, and commercial offerings
Communicate exchange pricing and functionality changes, venue quality information, and NYSE's market structure positions to clients
Assist with ad-hoc business development projects
Represent NYSE at client and industry events
Knowledge and Experience
10+ years of options market structure and competitive landscape knowledge
5+ years of work experience with a focus on securities and derivatives markets
Established relationships with equity options industry stakeholders
The ability to articulate complex issues and NYSE's stance on the same
Proven ability to successfully interface with senior internal and external stakeholders
Ability to accommodate up to 20% travel
Experience in electronic trading, floor trading, or exchange operations is a plus
A record of outstanding academic achievement, including a Bachelor's degree
