Job Description
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Chicago Lighthouse is a world-renowned social service organization serving the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities. The Director, New Business Development works with the SVP of Operations, and other key leadership and staff to drive organizational growth in alignment with The Chicago Lighthouse's strategy. Director, New Business Development will lead the efforts in identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities for The Chicago Lighthouse's innovative products and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy to drive revenue growth, build strong relationships with customers, and promote our products to new and existing clients.
The Director of NBD will play a valuable role in strategic planning processes, marketing, long term business development and relationship management, prospecting for new client opportunities, budgeting/ forecasting, as well as resource management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve revenue growth targets
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting and networking
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to cross-sell products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a seamless customer experience
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals
Track leads in CRM and create sales reports to measure performance
Leading the Innovation efforts as follows:
Perform market analysis for projects - Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
Successfully acquire and retain new clients by promoting the organization's products.
Responsible for sales production, performance, and lead generation.
Assist with Marketing strategies for social business enterprise team, including financial, quality and customer satisfaction.
Serve as a passionate ambassador and advocate for The Lighthouse's mission to serve blind, visually impaired, disabled, and Veteran communities.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
At least 7-10 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in a similar industry or with a focus on selling innovative products
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong understanding of the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers
Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability
Experience with CRM software and sales reporting tools
Knowledge of Ability One and Federal programs and state use contracts
Strong ability to understand the impact of operational initiatives from a sales perspective.
Must be willing to travel, including overnight travel required.
Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams.
Ability to build solid, lasting relationships with customers.
