Job Description

The Director role will report into the Vice President position and will be a part of the National Video Investment Team. This team works collectively to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of and a pulse on the media landscape, make smart investments with media partners, negotiating mutually favorable terms, and plan and execute client media buys that best deliver on their business and marketing objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The expectations for this role fall into 3 key categories:

1.Developing Teams & Talent

  • Oversee and manage team providing coaching and career development and that ADs/Supervisors are progressing relative to their goals.

  • Reviews and supports goals of ADs/Supervisors.

2.Delivering on Our Value Proposition

  • Develop and maintain strong partner relationships. Identify opportunities in the marketplace and seems the right partners to collaborate with.

  • Support negotiations.

  • Manage relationships with vendors and communicating client needs throughout the campaign lifecycle.

  • Lead escalation discussions of serious campaign issues.

  • Oversee day-to-day for activation.

  • Develop new strategies for clients and manage level of client satisfaction.

  • Lead day-to-day team negotiations.

3.Managing Business & Operations

  • Manage activation relationship with Agency Account Leads.

  • Identify best practices and opportunities for improvement within workflow process and communication protocols.

  • Oversee daily campaign execution & delivery.

  • Strong agency peer relationships with counterparts for escalation and troubleshooting.

  • Contribute to usage of tools and entry of data input.

  • Lead enforcement of Salesforce Hygiene across their direct team.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS

We value diversity of thought and experiences at APEX! If you learned about media from the sales or agency side, that's great but we do need folks with advanced level of understanding of how media investment works.

  • 7+ years of experience with Advanced knowledge of media is critical for success in this role

  • Diverse backgrounds and experience are welcome including Agency Planning/Investment, Media Sales, Consulting and/or Media Client Side

  • Strong media financial acumen is mandatory

  • Business financial acumen

  • Advanced understanding of the media landscape

SOFT SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Technical skills are a point of entry for the roles at APEX but we're looking for qualified candidates with soft skills that drives our culture.
