Position Summary:

The primary job function is to be responsible for ensuring Mercury's sales and marketing teams have the operational support necessary to drive profitable growth in agent markets. This position focuses on sales strategy support and analytics, agent and internal sales training, agency initiatives, programs and contests, new/existing products and systems support, communications, external agent services and internal sales team support.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead teams responsible for national sales administration activities such as sales strategy support and analytics, agent and internal sales training, agency initiatives, programs and contests, new/existing products and systems support, communications, external agent services and internal sales team support

  • Responsible for leadership activities including recruitment, retention, performance management, employee motivation, staff development and talent management

  • Drives business results and the achievement of sales targets by ensuring Mercury's sales force is effectively supported

  • Proactively identify sales administration, data analytics and sales support needs within the organization and develop solutions that enable efficiency and achievement of maximum sales results

  • Organize the sales administration function and provide vision and communication to the sales and marketing teams regarding the core responsibilities of their functions; Embed the functions to become an integrated part of the sales/marketing model; Monitor the status of sales administration activities to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the team

  • Partner with IT, product and other internal departments to maximize the data and analytics available to the sales and marketing teams to enhance sales planning and achievement of business results; Continuously improve this key area of focus within the Company and enable strategic decisions utilizing relevant data when possible

  • Execute the design of national programs, contests, initiatives or new products with a standardized approach that remains sensitive to the nuances of Mercury's regional markets

  • Foster and support positive relationships with Mercury's agency force through direct contact with agents and by influencing regional sales teams with best practices, education and quality initiatives

  • Cordially and professionally interact with customers, vendors, superiors, subordinates and peers

  • Other functions may be assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

? 8+ years experience working in a marketing or sales position within the insurance industry

? 5+ years in a supervisory capacity required
