Job Description Details:
The Director, Mission Integration provides leadership in ensuring the successful integration, assessment and development of mission in all of its activities, decisions and strategies. This new position is responsible for leading of the integration of Mission, Values and Catholic identity into the ministry's strategic plan, structures, and operations. This position is the leader and manager for spiritual care at their identified location, including administrative and operational oversight and performance management. The Director of Mission Integration reports directly to Mount Carmel's Senior Vice President of Mission Integration and partners with the hospital President. There will be a total of three (3) Directors of Mission Integration, serving as a members of the hospital executive leadership teams at: Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel West, and Mount Carmel St. Ann's.
Serves as an active member of the hospital executive leadership team, strategic and organizational development team and other leadership groups as appropriate.
Participates in the integration of the Mission and Values into policies, procedures, objectives, and service in operational areas: e.g., management development, human resources, finances, planning, advocacy/government relations, communication and marketing, community information services, etc.
Leads and supports spiritual care and chaplaincy in the assigned hospital. Works to develop plans to develop workplace spirituality.
Partners with key stakeholders in the orientation and development of colleagues and leaders in the understanding and incorporating Catholic identity and the Mission and Values of Trinity Health through orientation and leadership development programming.
Supports organizational and clinical ethics, including the ministry's ethics committees, and monitors the implementation of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Supports and coordinates the Mission Discernment process.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Serves as a key organizational liaison between other Ministry Mission leaders, Trinity Health, and with the diocese and local Bishop.
Forges alliances, analyzes community assets and fosters collaborative relationships with key community stakeholders, clergy, Catholic organizations, worshipping communities, community based organizations, businesses and other partners.

Education: Master's degree in theology or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of strong clinical practice background or ministerial background in health care. Must have proven experience in nurturing the Catholic identity of the organization through Catholic social teachings.
Effective communication skills with a strong executive presence. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church theology and ethics as applied to Catholic health care, its structures and laws; sensitivity to its decision-making processes and to change management and accountability within the church.
Successful organizational operation, management or education experience in an institutional setting. Must demonstrate skills and experience in strategic thinking, effectively leading people, health care operations, and organizational/change management.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience of leadership in fostering spiritual renewal and commitment to supporting and promoting the Catholic identity of the organization.
Demonstrates a working understanding of the human person and the integration of body, mind and spirit for human development; a working knowledge of the connections between spirituality, meaning and work; an appreciation of the process of religious formation and personal development; a respect for diversity of religious beliefs and culture.
Must be able to travel to the various ministries within the Region, 5-10% needed; Valid Ohio Driver's License required.
