What You'll Do:

The Director, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is a critical member of Curaleaf's global Business Development practice. This person will work across all stages of the M&A process, including market analysis, deal origination, financial modeling, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiation, preparation of C-Suite presentation materials, and business integration. This is an unparalleled opportunity to join one of the most acquisitive platforms in the global cannabis space, during a pivotal period for the industry. This role will be based out of Curaleaf's global headquarters in Stamford, CT.

  • Provide initial review and screening of prospective acquisition and partnership opportunities for Curaleaf, as well as track Curaleaf's acquisition pipeline.

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models, including valuation and pro forma analyses, which support the transaction or investment thesis, and ultimately the Executive decisions.

  • Serve as key liaison for internal and external project teams and stakeholders, including coordination of internal due diligence teams, maintenance of relationships with external financial and legal advisors, and serving as the lead M&A advisor to Curaleaf's SVP of Strategy & Business Development.

  • Continually evaluate new market trends and competitive opportunities/threats, including analyses to assess market sizing, segmentation, addressable market, and penetration.

  • Construct and deliver Executive and Board updates, including seeking formal approvals for acquisitions and investments.

  • Provide ongoing monitoring of acquired assets within the Curaleaf's portfolio, including post-acquisition integration and review of operating results.

  • Assist in debt and equity capital raising activities, by developing materials and financial projections to communicate our business performance and plan to external stakeholders.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics, providing insights into potential opportunities and threats.

What You'll Bring:

  • Cumulative 6-8 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, or some combination thereof

  • Transaction experience is a must. Candidate should possess the ability to oversee and manage the various workstreams of a deal, from sourcing to closing, and business integration.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication are critical.

  • Excellent project management skills to effectively coordinate various cross functional stakeholders and ensure timely execution of M&A projects across several global geographies.

  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to define issues, collect and analyze pertinent data, draw valid conclusions, and propose sound recommendations to the C-Suite,

  • Best-in-class financial modeling capabilities / professional Excel and PowerPoint experience.

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to take a big picture strategic view, whilst maintaining keen attention to detail.

  • Strong negotiation skills to drive favorable deal terms and agreements.

  • Experience in either the cannabis industry or in the broad CPG space is very beneficial but is not required.

  • Prior operating experience and/or Board of Directors membership is beneficial but is not required.
