The Director of Global Merchandising - Men's Accessories is a critical leadership role for the Men's Michael Kors team. This individual will be responsible for architecting a brand-right product assortment for Global business, as well as for US & European wholesale business in order to position Michael Kors Men's for growth in our own retail stores as well as key department and specialty stores. He/she will work closely with the Merchant, Sales, Design and Production teams to ensure customer preferences are considered while balancing the overall brand guidelines and aesthetic with the desired financial objectives.

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic global assortment based on thorough knowledge of market, brand and business while addressing needs of each region and channel.

  • Own communication of business needs and partner with management to drive the strategic direction of accessories and act as the key liaison between design, production, merchandising, global retail teams and US & Europe wholesale sales teams.

  • Lead the alignment of assortments by channel (retail vs. department store vs. specialty stores) as well as regional needs while maintaining the brand DNA.

  • Work closely with design and production on costing and product development as well as on quickly adapting on-order for emerging sales trends or declining product categories.

  • Develop the Global pricing strategy for all markets to achieve GM targets while aligning with overall Global pricing direction and understanding of competition.

  • Generate business analyses to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities to achieve continued growth and profitability of the accessories business.

  • Responsible for Line Planning, Hind-sighting, Assortment building, Showroom Setup/Sales Meetings, Merchandising Directives, Competitive Shopping Analysis, Long lead time and Liability management.

  • Effectively manages and supports the career development of direct reports to ensure job satisfaction, retention and to identify and develop bench strength.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience required; Men's Accessories Merchandising preferred

  • Experience working in a fashion brand with specific knowledge of Men's business

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Strong communication, organization and analytical skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and influence others

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Specifically Excel and Power Point

  • Strong presentation skills, especially visual presentation (Showroom set up).

  • Passion for fashion
