The Loyalty Department has an opening for a Director, Media Marketing, located in Pleasanton, California.

Position Purpose

We have a robust loyalty platform just For U with over 18M registered households and 35M digital identities. We leverage this rich data set as well as other data assets to support growth of our brick & mortar business, ecommerce, Own Brands, CPG partners and lot more. We know that over 60% of our customers look for inspiration online before they shop with us. And, this number is increasing! How do we capture the attention of these customers during this pre-shop stage? How do we place information about our amazing products, exciting promotions, accessible stores, friendly service in front of them so that they make us the primary destination for their meals? What innovative media products will enable us to succeed in this endeavor? What is the best way to measure media effectiveness, share it with other stakeholders and make it a key driver of our sales growth? And finally, how to build a high-performing team that will own and deliver strong results on a consistent basis? We are looking for a Director to tackle these and a lot more exciting and challenging opportunities in the role of Director, Media.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute the media strategy for a $60 BN organization that drives sales and at the same time delights customers at every one of the billions of touchpoints. This role will specifically support Own Brands and thirteen Divisions

  • Build deep relationships with the division marketing directors, Own Brand team, loyalty, analytics, shopper marketing, creative, digital product, and digital operations

  • Own relationships with all media partners and agencies as it relates to media campaigns supporting our divisions and Own Brand Business units

  • Manage media budget, ensure media plans are put together in partnership with key stakeholders and is executed to drive efficient results

  • Build the Media team including hire, train and grow top notch talent

  • Establish Media capability roadmap -- objective, needs, milestones, impact etc

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working in marketing and/or media strategy or brand management

  • 3+ years of direct experience working with digital media buying platforms (e.g. Google, Facebook, Amazon, DSPs)

  • 3+ years of hands-on traditional media buying experience (e.g. TV, Radio, Print, etc.) a plus

  • Mix of digital agency and client-side experience desirable

  • Mix of supporting media needs of ecommerce and brick & mortar businesses

  • Prior experience of selecting, managing and working closely with agency resources

  • Prior experience in building and operating personalization, martech stack, vendor selection etc.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, both directly and indirectly, with proven ability to develop junior staff

  • Strong ability to develop structured frameworks and approaches AND innovative thinking to solve complex marketing challenges in a fluid environment

  • Strong ability to create, build and leverage relationships and effectively interface with executive-level team members and at the same time have willingness to roll up the sleeves to solve problems

  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable using Excel for data analysis with understanding of advanced analytic approaches

  • Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective time management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines
