This position has regional responsibility for locomotive and freight car maintenance, inspection, and repair to continuously improve the availability and reliability of railroad equipment. Additionally, this position ensures that proper safety requirements are being met and are in compliance with OSHA, AAR and FRA requirements. This position requires ability to lead and develop a workforce across a region, respond to interruptions impacting service to customers, and instill a culture of continuous improvement related to safety and service to our customers. This position manages work flow planning and is the technical expert and responsible for analytics.
Oversees daily shop flow, and scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance;
Lead collaboratively with other departments to meet service expectations;
Ensures facility maintenance and cleanliness;
Ensure commitment of FRA regulations and AAR rules within the organization.
Plan, forecast, and execute logistics requirements to achieve efficient production results;
Plans repairs and calibration of shop equipment and tools;
Coordinate training of employees;
Promote safety protocol for workers and attend safety meetings;
Oversees technical documentation and ensures up to date information is available;
Meets production targets in an efficient and safe manner;
Exemplify KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.
