The Director, Materials Management will oversee all material resource activities involved in the planning, receipt, distribution, cleaning, storing and managing the replenishment of the supplies and equipment needed to support patient care at MemorialCare's Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children's Hospital. The Director, Materials Management provides leadership and direction in establishing operational goals and objectives for the cost centers listed above, in support of MemorialCare and the medical center's strategic plan.

The incumbent directs and coordinates services within Material Resources and with other departments and continually assesses and improves the performance of the Material Resources departments under his/her direction. This position also oversees the mailroom and the outsourced linen services.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in healthcare or business related field. A minimum of 7-10 years experience in healthcare materials management facilitating the inventory planning, point of use material flow, and up-stream/down-stream supply chain management.

Additional certification in healthcare materials management and/or Lean preferred. Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication and consensus-building skills in an individual who can effectively partner and execute with staff and various departments.

Demonstrated service-orientation, with ability to balance needs of the location, organization, and team. Expertise with Title 22, CDPH and Joint Commission accreditation standards as they relate to materials management, department processes and work flows.

The Manager also oversees the Supervisors in the storage of aircraft parts and aircraft related materials and the distribution of such. Essential Responsibilities: * Oversee proper storage and security of Company materials and assets at their assigned Blue Cities, to include, but not limited to, onsite and offsite warehouse storage facilities * Responsible for the inventory accuracy of the materials residing in the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) System * Responsible for the shipping, receiving and processing of all materials with the control of the facilities to ensure accuracy using the inventory management systems * Work with Planning, Procurement and Maintenance departments for heavy checks and line checks to ensure parts and materials are flowing through; ensures accuracy of the process and of the inventory * Train Crewmembers to perform their prescribed duties, to include documentation within the MINT system * Train Crewmembers to handle and oversee hazardous materials, to include packaging, labeling, documentation and file retention as proscribed by International Air Transport (IAT) * Other duties as assigned Minimum Experience and Qualifications: * High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma * Five (5) years airline Materials management experience * Two (2) years' supervisory experience * Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States * Available for occasional overnight travel (25%) * Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets JetBlue Airways' insurance standards * Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge * Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC) * Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located Preferred Experience and Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management * Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate Crewmember Expectations: * Regular attendance and punctuality * Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice * Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance * When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft * Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun * Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System * Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards * Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR)) * Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls * Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities Equipment: * Computer and other office equipment Work Environment: * Airport operations, including but not limited to terminal, warehouse hangar and office, with a varying ranges of temperatures and elevated noise levels * Shift work and on-call responsibilities Physical Effort: * Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
