Director, Mastercard Send - Cross-border to Card Enablement
Position: Director, Mastercard Send, Products & Innovation
Mastercard Send is a key component in establishing Mastercard as a global leader in Push Payments. Mastercard Send facilitates the secure delivery of funds between senders and receivers, typically within seconds. Through a single connection to Mastercard Send, businesses, merchants, governments, humanitarian organizations, financial institutions and others can send money to consumers and small businesses domestically and cross border. The service supports multiple use cases, e.g., person-to-person, business to business, disbursements, remittances and merchant payments. With our technology and expertise, we are making sending money safe, simple and fast.
The successful candidate will be part of the Issuer Enablement Team, helping to expand the Mastercard Send business to ready Mastercard Issuers in target receive markets to capture cross-border to card payment flows for key strategic sending customers.
Build internal organizational awareness of the Mastercard Send Cross-border to Card product and align with key country stakeholders on preparedness for upcoming market launches
Complete ongoing market roadshows to introduce cross-border sending-side prospects to key receiving banks in target markets, collaborating with local, regional and global team stakeholders. These customer engagements should raise awareness with receiving banks and help secure their buy-in to commercialize cross-border send to card programs.
o Create sales pitch and materials (internal and external) to facilitate productive conversations with receiving banks
o Integrate internal and external messaging with other New Payment Platforms (NPP) cross-border teams
o Build more robust business case for receiving banks to participate in these flows
o Formulate compelling answers to address common bank objections (operational, legal/compliance and commercial)
Liaise with Customer Delivery and Send Platforms Team to administer pre-commercial launch quality assurance testing in target launch markets for cross-border to card.
Develop and maintain white list of commercialized receive markets for cross-border to card transactions; partner with Platforms team to ensure appropriate rules and controls are in place to preserve integrity of program.
Maintain oversight of all legal, regulatory and compliance issues which may impact cross-border to card program enforcement efforts and commercial launches in target markets. This will involve close cross-functional collaboration to track legal reviews and regulatory engagements with the ultimate accountability for obtaining approvals to facilitate market launches.
All About You
Prior in-depth experience in the push payment space is desired with passion for domain expertise.
Demonstrated experience in product management, with an emphasis on bringing new payment products/ solutions to market regionally or globally.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong, productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
Demonstrated track record of championing cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives and driving initiatives to the desired outcome.
Strong team player, self-motivated and with the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply these in developing business action plans and defining and executing strategies to operationalize them.
Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into clear, actionable goals and metrics.
Client-facing experience, with ability to process and translate customer needs into business opportunities.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation necessary. Active listening and strong influencing skills required
Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
