The Director of the MEM Program is responsible for working with the MEM Executive Director for ongoing delivery, maintenance, growth, and evolution of the MEM Program; working in collaboration with Thayer School faculty, staff, and administration to identify and prepare the next generation of MEM program graduate leaders to engage with industry in corporate-sponsored class projects, in finding summer internships, and in obtaining full-time job placements in which they are prepared to solve problems through engineering thinking, research, and innovation, with a human-centered impact; reaching beyond Thayer School to inspire and deliver mutually beneficial and collaborative experiences such as student exchanges with Dartmouth, as well as with other graduate and professional schools. To accomplish this mission, the Director of the MEM Program will also work closely with the Director of Industry Engagement, the Admissions Marketing Director, Admissions Director, and the MEM Program Coordinator.

Master's degree in a relevant field.
At least five years' experience.
Proven leadership and management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, administrators, and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Initiative and judgment in managing sensitive issues.
Ability to articulate ideas clearly and to disseminate information relevant to the program both internally and externally.

Description
Recruiting / Admissions
Works closely with colleagues in the Academic and Student Affairs office at Thayer for student recruitment and admissions:
Develops content for the MEM student recruiting process.
Participates in monthly Information Session Webinars that are run by the Admissions Director.
Participates in the final admissions decision process.
Runs orientation.
Supports student engagement, answers program questions as part of the admissions process.
Supports agreements with other academic institutions.
Percentage Of Time 15% Description
Advising
Advises students on internships, full-time career placement, and other relevant matters.
Partners with Career Services at Thayer to ensure timely and relevant support for students.
Advises students on curriculum options; works with students to develop a valid course plan.
Guides the students on their professional preparation.
Implements and supports programs and services to meet student needs.
Coordinates with orientation staff.
Coordinates the delivery of ENGM 387 (Professional Skills).
Percentage Of Time 25% Description
Master of Engineering Management Project Course (ENGG 390)
Supports MEM students in their search for ENGG 390 projects/internships by putting them in touch with companies, alumni, Corporate Collaboration Council (CCC) members, the Director of Industry Engagement at Thayer, and others who may be of assistance.
Supports the delivery of ENGG 390 by creating and providing materials and hosting workshops that educate students regarding ENGG 390 requirements and schedule.
Maintains program connection with students throughout the summer.
Oversees the coordination of the informal practice sessions with CCC members designed to support students in preparing for their formal presentations for ENGG 390.
Oversees the coordination of the formal sessions in which students present their work in ENGG 390.
Percentage Of Time 15% Description
Alumni, Industry, CCC Relations
Liaises with the MEM CCC, working closely with the Council Chair to arrange meetings, agenda, conference calls, and to develop CCC workstreams.
Stewards CCC relationships and develops new members, with a focus to grow membership, including travel to visit the corporate members.
Organizes alumni outreach in various cities (e.g., Boston, New York City, San Francisco) in person, or virtually (e.g., dinners, receptions, site visits).
Oversees creation and distribution of MEM alumni newsletter.
Identifies new opportunities for partnership with various offices at Thayer and/or Dartmouth in support of MEM Program alumni, including but not limited to the Thayer Advancement office and Industry Engagement office.

Budget
Oversees the MEM budget to ensure appropriate adherence to approved budget and Thayer/Dartmouth fiscal policies.
Develops and manages all budget and financial monitoring activities.
Regularly provides updates to Program Director and Thayer Finance Office.
Serves as primary fiscal liaison with Thayer Finance Office for the MEM program.

New Initiatives
Coordinates in discovery of and discussions related to new initiatives such as determining the optimal on-line delivery model.
Participates in strategic decision-making for the program.
Works with MEM program leadership and staff to implement new initiatives for the MEM program.

Website / Social Media
Develops strategy for and oversees implementation of website and social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
Works with the Program Coordinator to execute plan.
Oversees work of student intern(s) on social media strategy as needed.

MEM Program Consortium
Represents Dartmouth on the MEM Program Consortium.
Attends biannual MEMPC meetings.
Oversees planning and execution of the MEMPC meeting when held at Dartmouth.
Coordinates MEMPC finances.
