Job Description
As a member of the US Cell Therapy Market Development team, the Director, US Health Systems & Payer Marketing plays a key role in driving the adoption of Kite Cell Therapies. In this role, you will lead the development of messaging, materials and tactics that effectively deliver the CART value proposition to Health System stakeholders. In addition, you will support the development of strategy that enables the expansion of CART Authorized Treatment Centers (ATC) and oversee (one direct report) the payer marketing function. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the Health Systems landscape identifying key dynamics/trends impacting adoption and utilization of CART.
This role reports to the Head of US Market Development. The candidate must be able to operate in a exciting environment with high expectations and a patient focus that drives the need for quality deliverables and performance.
Responsibilities include
Lead the development of US Health System messaging, materials and marketing tactics
Lead the engagement with Kite Account Director teams to ensure that messaging, materials and tactics effectively deliver on Kite commercial goals
Support the development of ATC expansion strategy into sites of care beyond transplant centers
Effectively lead and develop one direct report
Translate market trends, data and qualitative insights into actionable insights, strategies and tactical plans
Lead development, implementation, and measurement of key marketing-tactics
Work cross functionally with external partners including agency of record and internal departments including but not limited to brand marketing, market research, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, corporate compliance, and information systems
Lead projects through the legal, regulatory, and medical review process and final production
Manage budget in-line with expectations and in alignment with Kite financial objectives
Engage often with customers and external experts to develop insights and ensure creation of high impact messaging, high value marketing tools that drive engagement
Advisory board planning, logistics and attendance as needed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or science with 12+ years of relevant marketing or related healthcare experience
OR
Master's degree in marketing or science with 10+ years of relevant marketing or related healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams with excellent interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive to decision
Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to identify problems and develop explanations in-line with strategy
Understanding of both the clinical aspects and business of hematology / oncology and cell therapy specifically
Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels
Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-channel marketing plans
Experience in developing, reporting, and communicating related marketing metrics
Comfort with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment under tight timelines and independently determine appropriate action where precedent may not exist
Results-orientation with a bias for action, sense of urgency, and tangible results
Meaningful direction and ability to drive influence across partners to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding implementation
High-level critical thinking with the ability to concisely translate and communicate complex data and concepts to a broad audience
Strategic orientation and ability to quickly adapt plans in response to a constantly evolving market
Outstanding project management skills and experience handling multiple vendors and agency partners
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Excellent understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues

The salary range for this position is: $201,025.00 - $260,150.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
