This role will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing Member Engagement, Retention, and Customer Experience. The Director of Marketing Retention is a marketing leader and business leader with extensive experience building compelling retention strategies, leading programs to improve the overall member experience and digital-first marketing programs. The Director of Marketing Retention will lead strategy across all Healthfirst business lines including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial products.

  • Lead the retention marketing team responsible for member retention, and member-facing campaigns supporting brand connection.

  • Create and lead campaigns supporting member retention identifying and optimizing owned, earned, and paid-media channels.

  • Drive awareness, analysis and targeting, developing retention and other marketing assets to support sales and quality

  • Lead digital transformation within coordinated retention strategy

  • Creating a nimble and responsive team to drive member retention and engagement and support communications/engagement

  • Develop and execute annual and long-range membership retention and engagement plans based on in-depth understanding of market segmentation, market trends, member needs, and competitive position

  • Collaborate with sales, community engagement, service center, clinical and delivery system engagement teams to support member retention processes.

  • Work with vendors to optimize vendor relationships and provide overall vendor management.

  • Develop metrics and use data science to show the relationship between how customers interacted with Healthfirst and how that correlates to effect retention campaigns

  • Establish a methodology and standards around documenting processes and their relevant pain points and areas of opportunity/improvement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in progressive leadership roles in marketing, including team building and leadership-- as well as prior experience portfolio that demonstrates both strategic thinking and ability to execute tactically

  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry hospital system or provider group, life sciences, clinical research, HIT, insurance, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Influential oral communication skills one on one, groups

  • Strong project and budget management skills, including the ability to independently manage and execute complex projects end-to-end

  • Experience using tools for marketing reporting, analytics, and marketing automation

  • 7+ years in progressive leadership roles in marketing, including team building and leadership-- as well as prior experience portfolio that demonstrates both strategic thinking and ability to execute tactically

You will develop strategies to create customer relationships, deepen engagement and drive repeat sales and loyalty. You'll also own all retention analytics and play an integral role in defining the process by which we acquire, process and analyze customer data. Since Luxury Brand Partners has an expanding portfolio of brands, you'll also be challenged with developing strategies that fit multiple businesses at various stages of maturation, within varying categories and targeting a range of audiences--all while ensuring a strong adherence to industry best practices. This includes development of cross-channel marketing strategies, customer journeys, promotional events, VIP and loyalty activations that drive demand and customer value across digital channels and in alignment with any/all brand marketing initiatives. You should also have an entrepreneurial spirit. While this role will eventually have direct and dotted line reports, you will start as both a leader and a do-er. We need someone who can develop a strategy and delegate appropriately but also get in the weeds and manage/execute programs when needed. This is an exciting time to join the team! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Direct responsibility of retention marketing and CRM efforts and all customer engagement, retention, reactivation and LTV targets * Strategic development of all customer lifecycle communications across relevant touch points; convert customer retention vision into an actionable, measurable plan with clear goals, strategies, tactics, testing plan and measurement * Drive strategy for all of customer engagement efforts, working throughout the organization and with relevant agencies/partners to execute initiatives * Report on overall engagement and retention rates (and key drivers) to senior leaders as well as more detailed reporting for Digital, IT and Brand marketing teams * Analyze cohort performance by product, geography, channel, and other factors to understand LTV * Utilize customer, site and digital marketing data to unlock new customer cohorts, engagement strategies and business opportunities. * Analyze/assess efficacy of initiatives and how they support larger organizational goals * Conduct analyses to understand when and why people churn, as well as constantly run tests for new strategies to keep customers engaged or win them back following inactivity or churn * Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, Brand Marketing) and/or outside vendors to develop a new predictive model to proactively identify customers most at risk to churn in order to target efforts to keep them engaged * Partner with other Digital team members and Brand Marketing teams to test and deploy improvements to the customer journey in the form of new site features, experiences, personalizations, etc. * Lead advancement and evolution of complex email targeting and personalization strategies, utilizing data and customer mindset to develop segmentation, content and communication decisions. * Evaluate and optimize triggered email programs; restructuring business logic, campaign prioritization, cadence and content strategy. * Lead relevant vendor relationships, developing and maintaining on point vendor deliverables; continual focus on relationship management and capabilities assessment. * Develop and implement a cohesive and integrated mobile push/sms strategy * Accountable for channel budget management and ROI. * Manage and grow our Retention and CRM team * Regular attendance and participation within the organization. * Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * BS/BA from a four-year college required * 7+ years of customer marketing, retention and/or loyalty experience in an ecommerce setting * Excellent analytical skills – ability to formulate logical, data-driven business insights and test new ideas to improve retention * Demonstrated depth of understanding and experience with ecommerce, acquisition marketing, digital product and branding. * Proven track record of driving business and customer results * Strong understanding of the financial aspect of retention marketing within an ecommerce company * Strong leadership skills and ability to empower team to work independently * Comfort working collaboratively across multiple departments including but not limited to Business Intelligence, Product, and Content * Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word a must * Proven comfort with complex segmentation decisions and audience analysis * Strong knowledge of cohort analysis and business insight tools a must * Comfort with HTML and CSS preferred * Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present comfortably to leadership * Ability to identify, prioritize, and focus on the tasks that drive the most value * Ability to work independently to deliver tangible, measurable results * Entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to adapt in a rapidly changing business and industry SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring, but this role is planned to have both direct and dotted line reports in the near future.
