Description:

The Director, Marketing Operations occupies a crucial position within the Marketing team. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who is able to think strategically and can also be detail-oriented and execution focused when needed. The individual will apply a learner-centric approach and vision to recommend data-driven activations across all consumer-facing channels including, but not limited to email, media, social etc.

This role will provide insights that are data-driven and recommendations that can be applied across all of Marketing's disciplines. It will also support the ongoing business transformation across Marketing functions.

In this role, the person will be required to:

  • Create new capability around reporting of Marketing Database Stats - assessing health of existing database based on engagement, learner lifecycle and other key metrics identifying opportunities for improvement (e.g. quality of contact)

  • Based on the above data foundation, define strategies to proactively improve database health

  • Proactively define the CRM Marketing roadmap and priority, provide strategic input in alignment with broader Marketing Technology roadmap and efficiently collaborate with CRM Product owner for implementation, including outlining desired use cases and business outcomes

  • Serve as the marketing database data lead- utilizing analytics to drive learner-centric action plans and first party data activations

  • Work alongside Marketing Analytics team to support broader Marketing team as necessary

  • Maximize opportunities to cross-reference learnings from multiple data sources to create multi-channel strategies

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive data-driven programs and initiatives

  • Provide insights support as well as audience development support for digital media campaigns

  • Ensure audit trails are in place to anticipate problem areas in advance where possible.

  • Establish an intimate understanding of source data, specifically those data elements that support segmentation and audience creation/targeting

  • Lead ad-hoc investigations into learner data as needed

  • Responsible for documentation of processes and business rules to support Marketing

  • Manage ongoing business transformation initiatives across Marketing functions, including planning, tracking, guiding teams and implementation

Qualifications

Qualifications - External

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree from accredited university in Business, Marketing, or similar discipline

  • 7 years of experience working in complex relational databases, included querying data using SQL

  • 3 years in People management role

  • Experience working in complex data-environments

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence

  • Experience working with Liveramp

  • Experience with CRM data enrichment

  • Ability to perform efficiently within a high pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to lead presentations and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable recommendations

  • Demonstrated skills in communication - not only written and verbal but also in the engagement of internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to translate complex data elements and nuances into simple business terms/concepts

  • Strong problem-solver with analytic mindset and high familiarity with complex data flows and structures

  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker, results and solutions-oriented
