Director, Marketing Oncology

Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all the Oncology Business Unit's marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services for areas of marketing, communications and public relations. Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program within the marketplace, facilitate internal and external communications.
2.Ensure articulation of Oncology's desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Organization and all constituencies; both internal and external.
3.Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Oncology's publications.
4.Coordinate media interest and act as the Oncology representative with the media.
6.Coordinate the appearance of all Oncology print and digital materials; both internal and external.
7.Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist areas in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.
8.Provide counsel to areas on marketing, communications and public relations.
9.Ensure that there is regularly conducted and relevant market research completed; coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends.
10. Lead projects as deemed appropriate, such as cause-related marketing, speaker programs, advisory boards, national conferences/congresses, etc.
11. Develop short and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing department and its activities; monitor progress.
12. Recommend short and long-term department and market goals/objectives to Sr. Leadership.
13. Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from Oncology key constituencies regarding the quality of programs.

Education:

Minimum of 7 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector with a focus on Oncology. Bachelors degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable.

Skills:

1.Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
2.Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
3.Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel.
4.Demonstrated successful experience creative marketing concepts, making presentations and negotiating with media.
5.Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
6.Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout.
7.Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
8.Strong oral and written communications skills.
9.Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

Qualifications: Has minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical sales, marketing and management experience. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred. Understands interaction of geographic conditions and customer base. Understanding of environmental and industry trends, and their impact on the business. Previous sales, marketing and or other management roles of increasing responsibility. Mastery of selling skills. Experience with geographic region customer base. Top quality performance in field sales and field sales management. Diverse management leadership experience. Broad based, cross-functional experience i.e., marketing, finance, planning and operations, learning and development, etc. Participation in the development and implementation of strategy on a geographic or product basis.
